Colleen: If the marble is sealed with a high quality sealer every 6 months, and you use a pH neutral marble cleaner to clean your countertop and wipe off perfume/lotion "spills" before they stay on the surface for an extended period of time (overnight or longer) then I think you should be fine! Remember...you just have to be careful with marble...it's very porous.

Would hair products or perfumes & lotions stain marble (thinking of the alcohol content in some of these products)?

Sara: Yes, marble will stain easily, however there is nothing in a bathroom that would stain it. Water and soap will not hurt the stone.

What is the name of this? Is it marble? Are there any problems using marble in a bathroom?
