Deb: Crema Bordeaux has more garnet, the Delicatus is more beige/peachy. I'd go with the Delicatus. |
|
Name: Deb | Date: 2010-02-14 21:27:42 |
I should add that there is a near-by powderroom which I would like to resurface in the same materials. However, here the floor is ceramic tile in a fairly crisp white with pinkish shadows and burgundy grout. Is there enough garnet or red in these two choices to go with both a beige/grey floor and a white/burgundy floor? I am afraid I might be trying to force a match of 2 color families. |

Deb: Excellent choices for a beautiful white kitchen! I'd go with the Delicatus, it's lighter than the Bordeaux while still providing contrast and interest. |

Our planned kitchen reno is very white -- white cabinets (final colour TBD); a light beige/grey faux stone floor, white walls, and a soft white backsplash with a sprinkle of italian tiles in bright primary colors. My granite countertops need to provide interest, but I don\'t want anything too dark or too brown. What do you think about Crema Bordeaux or Creme Delicatus? Any other suggestions? Thanks |

Great site! My cabinets are antique white with an antique black w/ vanilla glaze island. Floors are wide plank hardwoods with a walnut stain..small amount of red in them. I love the Bordeaux stone, but I'm afraid it would be too busy with my kitchen...any suggestions? My walls are Bagel, window treatments are rust red and taupe. Feeling totally overwhelmed here. |

Any suggestions for granite colors for "tract-house" oak cabinets that would also look good if I painted my cabinets antique white. We are not sure whether we will paint them, so we need something that will look good either way. We are on a budget too, so typhoon bordeaux is out of the question, although I really like it. Floors are dark cherry wood, not a lot of red in them, wide plank. |

Yes, It is a spacious kitchen and has an island. We get the natural sunlight and have recess lights , 2 pendant lights over the island and etc. The floor looks dark and rich while the cabinets are in light natural color. |

Hello,
I have glazed maple cabinets and light maple floors (few shades lighter than the cabinets). Our kitchen is rather small and we're afraid that dark/black colors would make it look smaller. Can you pose some recommendations for granite countertops? |

Sean: Thanks for some reference, I wish everyone was so kind.. ;) Anyway, for darks: Tan Brown, Baltic Brown, Crema Bordeaux (maybe?). Lights: Giallo Ornamental, St. Cecilia, St. Clara and perhaps Juparana Vyara Gold. Check these out and let me know which ones you like the best. Also, while you're remodeling, change those fluorescent under cabinet lights. They kill the color of the granite. Warm light will enhance it. |

Help! In our kitchen redo, we are keeping our light hickory cabinets and adding an island. Rather than trying to match the old cabinets, we have decided to go with an antiqued black cabinet for the island. Would it look okay with two different granite colors as well? Thinking uba tuba on perimeter, tropic brown on island. Thoughts? |

It's a bit too light. I am not sure about the yellow in it. Maybe I should go darker to get more contrast? How about Juparaná Fantastico? |

I have hazelnut color(slightly darker than honey spice) Medalion cabinet. What color would you suggest? We thought about Giallo Veneziano, but most of the slabs have too much orange. Our kitchen is a closed room 11x13, L shape with a eat-in area. |

gail: Never heard of the name. But that doesn't surprise me as many warehouses and fabricators will change the names to make the stone seem exclusive to them. |

I have dark oak cabinets and a light tiled floor with some brown and black specks throughout. I do not have a large kitchen - what color granite & backsplash should I be looking at? I saw something called St. Ceclia that I liked but have trouble picturing it in the kitchen. |

Jasmine: If you like light colors - Kashmir White or Milky White. If you'd rather go a bit darker, there are plenty of golds to complete your look. |

Go with a darker color granite, Uba Tuba for example or emerald green or verde butterfly. I have the same kitchen cabinet color and my dad used Uba Tuba on the island. |

Doing a stone carpet in foyer. Multi-Red Onyx border-Need suggest. for field color. Considering Madura Gold, but foyer leads into open kitchen w/maple cabs and stain.appli. Is Madura Gold enough of a contrast w/cabs., or should we use a red/amber tone granite? If so, which red tone would you suggest that comes in tiles, too?
Thank you, Bridgett |

If you want to go into warmer lighter colors you may look at Colonial Gold, Creama Italia, Harvest Cream. Yellowish tones with a little bit of warmer brown streaks and a creamy background. |

Bordouex is a good option but in fact you may go with variety of different colors. If you want more contemporary look try to look accros the color wheel to break up color schematic. Maybe Verde Sequoia? |

Excellent choice. This is the regular bordeaux. The crema one is slightly more reddish, less orange so it should work even better. |

do you think santa cecilia, giallo veneziano or desert brown would look better with white cabinets, med oak floors and a large kitchen with a 6 foot by 6 foot island. The adjacent room has a lot of earth tone warm colors. |

We've looked at tobacco and it seems to have orange in it which is a problem because the walls in the kitchen are a deep rose. How would UbaTuba or Violetta look? The latter has some red in it and UbaTuba is popular and might be acceptable to a new buyer. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-02-13 09:26:33 |
Jay - That's Golden Rock. Although it has both red and green in it, the main color is rather on the yellowish side, so this might not do the trick. Try Bordeaux Terracota or perhaps Tabacco. |
