Mahee: That sounds like a warmer, country-style direction. Also, take a look at Tropical Brown, it looks very similar but a tad darker. |

Thank you for replying. Its an open floor plan with the kitchen, breakfast area flowing out into the Family room. They all have the same darkish flooring. Lots of natural light comes through family room and break fast nook. My biggest fear is even such spacious room can appear smaller than it really is.The model homes look impressive with same combinations (only difference is models always have the best furnishings to compliment the color scheme). My other available options for granite are baltic brown, Silver sea green and Santa cecelia. What do you think about Lighter cabinets ,Silver sea green granite and honey colored hardwood floors? |

Mahee: It does seem a little dark. If it's a spacious area with plenty of natural light then you should be alright. |

The colors we have chosen are Tan brown, Cherry stained Maple cabinets and coffee colored hardwood flooring. The dark flooring seems to be the trend looks good in many model homes these days. Iam only afraid that this will end up making teh Room dark, considering tan brown is mostly a black granite. the reds in the granite seem to play off nicely with the cherry cabinets though. anyone here with the same combinations regretting it? |

We are remodeling our kitchen and have picked natural cherry cabinets with stainless steel appliances. The wall color in our combined kitchen/dining room is wethersfeild moss and the flooring is Goncalco Alves (select tiger wood). What color grantic would you recommend? Kitchen faces north. Thank YOU! |

kenny: There is no blue in it. More like a golden reflection. And Bianco Romano is all white with some black. |

how about all white, with black diamonds in it. |

My entire house is in warm colors, would this granite be warm enough with white cabinets and warm hardwood floor? |

Renata : I think your color scheme is good. Very interesting and colorful. It should be very rich. |

I've read in your discussion that there are different names for the various granites...can you tell me if this stone is also called Brown Antique? |

Thanks a lot for your input..We love the Emerald Pearl so will go with that and now the challenge of selecting backsplash tiles starts :-) |

karen: Well then granite seems like the perfect way to upgrade. The value of your home should go up a bit, but more importantly, having granite countertops will help sell it much quicker. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-10-01 08:44:16 |
Scorpion: I think the emerald pearl would be the better match of the two. Uba Tuba is "greener" and might clash with the red cabinetry. |

We are going to sell our home in 2 years and are updating our kitchen ie have stainless appliances now and painted our cabinets brilliant white and replaced pulls with 5" straight stainless pulls. What to do with our galley style counters and center island counter. We have 17' ceilings, bar, nook, and kitchen attaches to family room. Thanx Karen |

I would like to thank you for the invaluable advice. We have fruitwood cherry cabinets(lighter that the picture above)and the kitchen is open and very well lit. We are thinking of going with either emerald pearl or ubatuba contrasting the backsplash with lighter tiles. I would like to seek your expert advise & would appreciate your response |

Amy: If your kitchen is on a darker side and not too spacious you may be better off with light colored granites. Adding darker stone with more vaining and pattern on the Island may create an impresion of kitchen being overloaded, busy and a little heavy. Lighter stones throught may be a good way to go. It really will make the kitchen look more bright and open. |

Thanks so much for the advice! If we go with tan brown on the medium cherry perimeter, can you suggest a complementary stone with some movement for the island with cream cabinets? Since we don't have a lot of light, do you think we're better off with light colored granite throughout? Thanks again! |

Amy: If you have large and bright kitchen Uba Tuba would look great as well as Platinum Bahia. I don't think that different granite on the Island will look to busy becasue both of those stones have rather uniform, quiet pattern. |

Our large kitchen will have russet stained cherry cabinets on the perimeter and cream with a suede-reddish glaze on the island. What do you think of tan brown or uba tuba granite throughout? Do you think this Platinum Bahia would be a good choice? Would a different color on the island be okay or is that too busy? Thanks! |

Donna, if you look at this picture, you can see how cherry cabinets look with a dark color. Here it's just the island though. Imagine the whole kitchen in cherry with dark granite. I'd say stick with light colors. |

what color granite (besides green hues) would work well with cherry cabinets? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-03-05 14:02:40 |
You could do the counter in black, and the island in a different color. If the room is big and with a lot of light, black shouldn't be a problem. |

Any black, or dark brown color looks great with a lighter cabinet, it's a common combination. |

large kitchen ; 3 long counter tops and a 2 level center cook island. Cherry cabnites and all black appliances. Question 1. Would you do everything in one granite color.2. Any recommendations in black or would it make the room look to dark. Thanks |

Too many colors won't look good. Keep it simple :) |
