sharon: Your design is very open with white cabinets, any of these stones will look beautiful, really. They provide excellent contrast. As for the sink, I'd go with stainless. |

I have been debating black pearl, antique brown or plantinum bahia granite. The Bahia and Antique brown both seem to have black and brown in them. Which would you lean towards? Black pearl, Plantinum bahia or antique brown? I have white raised cabinets and white appliances. I tend to be more traditional. Would you go with stainless or a colored sink (brown/black )sinks? |

Beautiful! My small galley kitchen has "pickled" oak finish cabinets.THAT is my biggest challenge, but I love my cabinets.Stainless & blk appliances. All else will be redone so I am open to new floor, backsplash & paint! |

cindy Herr: Granite does not scratch if it is sealed properly. If you are looking for a darker stone, take a look at Butterfly Jade too. |

Does granite scratch easily? Also I have reddish oak cabinets and ss appliances. Do you think this would be a good choice for color or would you suggest something else? Thanks for your help |

Cindy Herr: Very dark (black) colored granite shows smudges more so than light colored granite. |

When you say black shows everything, what exactly do you mean? |

Kathy: Yes, black does show a lot. Platinum Bahia is a nice stone and with straight edges, it could pass in a modern style. |

What is the best black granite for elegant sophisticated look that is not a maintenance issue? I've been told that desiring black granite is a mistake because it shows everything. I want to put it in a mountain home with a transitional look to modern attributes. |

Julie: Not sure, but it looks like your run of the mill cherry with a dark stain. |

Do you know what type of finish is shown in the island cabinetry? Considering this countertop and it looks great with that finish. Thank you. |

Lisa: From a distance, I'd say it looks like a really deep brown. Kind of like chocolate. But when you get up close, you start noticing that it has various shades of brown and black. On top of that, you will see golden reflections in the stone. Very very beautiful stone. |

Can you describe other colors in this granite? Does it appear to be more brown than black? |

Seeing as this stone is rather dark, it would definately work with your setup. Keep in mind though, that you'll need quite a bit of light to keep it looking brown and not black. |

I have cherry cabinets that are not in a dark stain. Sort of medium and not very reddish. The floor is walnut travertine (beige w/brown veining). Would this granite be a good choice? Thanks. |

I tried to use the stone estimate, but for the second step in choosing the stone the chocolate brown is not an option. Is there any other way to get a quote? |
