I\\\'m doing a bathroom with natural slate tile (raja multi.) Vanity and beadboard wainscotting will be natural maple. Now I have to pick a counter top and am struggling. I\\\'m afraid a shiny granite will not be complementary to the slate. I\\\'m kind of considering a corian type product, but would prefer a natural stone. Any suggestions for a color that might work with the matte greys and rusts in the slate? |

My kitchen is small but knocking 0ut 2 walls between kitchen, living and dining rooms. My cabinets are going to be dark cherry, the walls white, light floor. Would like this granite for the island, would a light granite for counter tops be better? |

Becky: It's a rather standard choice. If you want your kitchen to have a more upscale look, I'd stay away from Uba Tuba. |

my cabinets in the kitchen are med Oak. I have been looking at Ubatuba. Do you think this is a wise choice? |

What color is shown? |

roger: It depends on the lighting condition of the kitchen. As you see here in this photo, even with a giant window, it's still a bit gloomy. That's why I would suggest something a bit lighter. |

Love the modern look! We refinished oak cabinets to dk. red mahogany w/ pinkish/gray travertine floor. Have considered Giallo Ornamental & Silver Glaxy to help keep the space from being too dark - but we love blue pearl and it goes with the slate we have in the rest of our home. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

My colors for kitchen cabinets are identical to the one shown, and my floors are stained concrete (coca cola). which color stone would suit me? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-04-08 16:09:02 |
Gale: You're on the right track. Using a darker or lighter color than the wood will do the trick. now just decide which option suits you better. |

deb: Ubatuba is green. Green and red barely ever look good together. |

deb Heemskerk: In that case, Tan Brown will suit you well. So will the Platinum showed on this photo. |

Kathy: No. Two different stones. This one is more of a gray and silver look. |

I'm agonizing over my granite color. Medium cherry cabinets with oak floor. Have can lights, undercabinet lights, and pendants over island; limited natural light, considering tropical brown. I think I prefer darks and dont like a a lot of veining. |

Is this granite similar in look to the platinum bahia? This granite is listed as 356 and platinum bahia is 357 and I think they look similar except for the grey vs choc brown. I love the platinum bahia but we both like this platinum shown. I would be happy if this is similar to the platinum bahia. Is this stone still available? Thank you. |

Do you have a picture of how the brackets look and how they are attached? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-01-16 09:53:55 |
Steve: As you said, this is a custom job, and the size of the brackets will depend on the size of the stone they're going to hold. |

Where Can I Purchase these brackets for my countertop? or Where can I get dimentions for fabrication if this is a custom design? |

I have cherry cabinets with chestnut stain and brown satin glaze. I was originally thinking of going dark like this with the granite counter top but the more i see, I think I like a lighter contrast without going white. No tile picked for floor yet (new construction) so I'm open to any suggestions. |

Assuming you're talking about the above granite/cabinet color combination, then I'd go with wood. |

Would you choose travertine or distressed wood for the kitchen floor? |
|

It would look great! Just stay away from the really wavy patterns. It might get too busy. |

How do you think this granite would look with a colorful slate flooring and glass tile back splash? I'm going for a contemporary look. |

The cabinets are cherry, and the edge is called Dupont. |

What color are these cabinets & what type of edge is this? |

All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2006-11-08 08:16:31 |
Amy, the brackets are L-shaped metal pieces that are bolted to the cabinet. Most probably there's one every 1.5 foot. As far as travertine tile, it definately won't look the same, however since travertine is very neutral, the overall composition would look good. |

What is on the floors? I have travertine on my floors now do you think it will look just as good? |

What are the brackets? I was told that granite is to heavy, is it the length of the bar? Ireally want to do this to mine but no body seems to know how!! |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2006-11-06 08:32:03 |
There are brackets underneath that hold it up. |
