Ed: Well, it's a bit bland I would say. That's if you took the same exact Madura as pictured here. The problem is that it will vary from batch to batch. I think if you find one with more definite veining, it would fit just perfectly. |

Have Chosen maple cabinets, hazelnut stain with burnish glaze, would medura gold work or could you suggest a better contrast? |

Dennis: The stone will always vary depending on the batch or quarry it came from. I think your combination would work. |

Sarah: It's maple with a really nice stain (which name I do not know). |

I am redoing my kitchen, and i like the way the granite looks with these cabinets, can you tell me the color of the cabinets? |

Nadine: Hmm. Not a bad combination of colors, but it really depends on the darkness/lightness of the cabinets. If they are as dark as what's pictured here, then definitely go for it. If they are lighter, then they will start to blend with the stone. And that's never a good thing. |

1) Hello, I currently have maple cabinets ( reddish/brownish in color). I also have natural oak floors. I am thinking of using the Madura Gold. Would this be a good fit?
2) I was also thinking of using the madura as a back splash as well as on the counter tops. What are your thoughts? |

Renee: That's a very large island. If you are planning to go with a stone that has a wavy pattern (such as the one pictured here), be prepared that the seam will show. And at that size, you will have to have a seam. The largest slabs are 10'x8'. See if you can downsize and split the island into two levels. Lower one for the working area, and a raised bar for sitting at. |

Can you give the island dimensions? I will be building a house and I am trying to find a kitchen island. My kitchen is 13'-10"x15'-8".OPen floor plan. Your stone designs is what I am looking for!!Any suggestions would be welcomed.Thank you! |

Sarah: As you can see that color goes preety nicely with the cabinets. It has enough contrast to bring attention to the surfaces and matches floor quite well. You may also look at Golden Valley, Golden Oak, Lighter Giallo fantasia or even Golden Waves #198 if you want to have more movement and pattern. |

The kitchen in my new home will have cabinets almost identical to these--maple with a mocha glaze. The moldings will be darker with a darker chocolate glaze. The backsplash will be a light stacked stone (field stone). Do you have suggestions for countertop color? |

Yes, they are close in color. The patterns are different though. I'd say it will go with oak depending on the stain. |

Is this granie also similar in color to Gibley? Would it go with oak cabinets? |

Just little speckles. Nothing major. |

Is there any black in this granite? |

Our cabs won\'t be the dark cherry, but a natural shade with a honey stain. I liked Venetian Light/Giallo Ornamental first and then we saw the Madura Gold. Our slab has a lot of the greyish element in it. It will tie in the nearby natural red oak flooring though, better than the Venetian would have. |

It will fit in just fine. My concern would be how dark the cabinets are. You don't want everything to blend in. |

This giallo tends to be more orange and rusty. Personally I would not use it with cherry. I don't think we have any pictures with that stone. |

Cabs--cherry with a honey glaze. Tile is down -- creamy yellow/gray background with borwn and black veining, not sure what you call it on tile, but you get the picture. Grout will be a medium khaki-ish color. Hubby\'s mind is made up. Madura Gold sound like a good choice? Black appliances |

Do you know the color of stain and/or glaze and type of wood of these cabinets? |

Illy: Most chips can easily be repaired to a point that they won't show at all. On larger chips, you might see a hairline crack where the granite chipped. |

If granite gets a chip during
the handling can it be repaired or would it be best to replace. |

I am amazed at your web site, it's gogeously put together. Although, I can't seem to find the specific names of some of the granites, the color names. |
