Kitty: Giallo Ornamental will look beautiful. And stick with the Botticino tile for backsplash, anything darker will not tie-in as well. |

My cabinets are antique white, my ceiling is tongue and groove pine, my floor is a terra cotta tile. Would giallo ornamentale look good here? Any other suggestions? With Botticino backsplash? Or a darker travertine? |

Caryl: Perhaps you should use a darker stone for more contrast, as there seems to be all beige & creme stones in your kitchen. An option to consider is Tropical Brown. However, between the two you mentioned, i'm leaning towards Santa Cecilia. |

Hi, I have cream colored cabinets and a beige tile with cream grout backsplash. I am not sure if I should go with the giallo ornamental countertop or the santa cecelia gold. I plan on doing the floor tiles the same as the backsplash only 18x18. |

My cabinets are antique white, appliances SS, and my wall color is Benjamin Moore Olive Branch (greenish kahki). I am wanting to do the Giallo Ornamental granite but am stuck on backsplash. Thinking of a travertine in the brick pattern with light colored grout. Does this sound right? |

Amy: Maybe a little more contrast? Take a look at Baltic Brown, or Tropical Brown. |

Hi, Hoping you can help...I am trying to pick a granite that will tie in all my colors in the kitchen. The kitchen will open up to the rooms downstairs. My cabinets are cream and am thinking I will select oiled bronze hardware or antique pewter. Appliances will be stainless steel. The floor is a medium dark walnut. The colors adjacent to the kitchen are chocolate brown, terracotta, golden yellow and taupy green. I am thinking of giallo ornamentale for my countertop. What are your thoughts? Any other suggestions? |

Help! I am interested in a tumbled stone backsplash with the Giallo Ornamental countertops. I don't like a mixed color which would compete with the countertops patterns. Please give me a color name that would look good for the backplash. Thanks! |

Well than what color granite would you suggest with the tile colors? I don't like most of the browns I have seen. Most are too speckly almost look like composite. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-05-20 13:26:16 |
Peter: Well, if it's worth anything, I like the tile set-up as well. It's probably clashing pretty badly with the cool blue pearl. No easy solution here. |

Hi-
I am building a new master bath, white fixtures and Blue Pearl Granite for vanity top, around tub and thresholds. My challenge is tile color scheme. I selected a chocolate brown 6X6, beige 12X12, with a 1x1 mosaic including those browns with clear glass. My wife says NO! she now likes the tile hates the granite-but I already have the granite! |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-05-20 10:58:34 |
Karen: Emerald Pearl is not one of the warm stones I'm afraid. You could try to offset that by using a sage color for the walls. Other than that, the combination with creme cabinets is good. |
|
Name: Karen | Date: 2009-05-19 10:13:19 |
I was wondering if light cream colored cabinets would look good with Emerald Pearl granite top and if so could you suggest a paint color that would blend in the kitchen? Thanks Also can this color of granite throw off a warm look since it has some black in it. I am a warm type of person as far as colors. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-05-11 11:08:04 |
Laura: Both of you are right. Blue pearl will match very well, providing excellent contrast, matching to SS appliances and complimenting the floor. Giallo Ornamental will give you good contrast while matching to the cabinets and floor and adding a lot of warmth which the Blue Pearl won't have. Flip a coin if you have to! |

Love this granite. Hubby and I are on opposite sides. He likes Blue Pearl and Blue Pearl GT (has more white than blue) Our cabinets are going to be white with stainless appliances. Floors are golden teak. Will the black/white combo be too hard on the eyes? Is my neutral granite choice (like pix or Giallo ornamental) too bland? Any opinions appreciated. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-05-06 12:36:12 |
Karen: Well, it's certainly a neutral color and should fit in that color scheme. |

Kara: That's really up to you. Personally, I'd probably go with the light option as the floor is already serving as the visual "anchor" to the whole design. |
|

I have white cabinets, dark split brick floor, for now, and black appliances. I want to put in granite and a tile backsplash. I can\'t decide if a dark color (such as butterfly) to contrast with the cabniets or a lighter color to maybe make the kitchen look bigger would be better. Any suggestions? |

I have almost decided to put Golden Butterly in my kitchen but now I am worried because the cabinets are light maple and the floors are light hardwoods (but I am planning to change the floors eventually to a darker tone -maybe a cherry or walnut. Do you think the Golden butterfly is a good choice? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-10-08 13:17:35 |
Denny: For the floor tile, I'd go with something rather tame... maybe slate. Backsplash, can be in the same colors as the countertops, but a shade or two darker. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-10-08 12:43:11 |
Mary: Using an overall light color shouldn't be a problem, but I would choose tile that's not uniform to add some texture and pattern to the whole kitchen. |

We have giallo ornamental granite for our kitchen countertops cream colored cabinets. Small kitchen. Putting large porcelin tiles in for flooring... any suggestions on colors? Was thinking light beige/sand tones, but will that be TOO light? Should we try to go darker on the floor? Thank you! |

Lou Ann: Lets see... With most of the kitchen in white, going for a dark color shouldn't make it drab. In fact, it will create a lot of contrast which should be exciting and lively. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-09-26 11:44:13 |
Lana: Well in your combination of materials and colors these two might get "lost". I would suggest something more contrasty, such as Giallo Fiorito or other dark Giallos. |

Mary: Bianco romano for a classic look and Ornamental for a more modern look. Floor is a blank canvas, it should be fine with any neutral colors. |

All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-08-11 11:44:50 |
Chris: Usually having two different wood finishes and two different granites doesn't yield good results. There's just too much going on. I would suggest staying with one granite color and two different wood finishes. |

We are planning on medium cherry cabinets with a white painted/bronze-glaze island and possibly a red birch floor. We have black appliances and were wondering if absolute black would work or should we go with something softer like giallo ornamental. Either way I would like to use something different on the island. What would you suggest? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-06-18 15:33:13 |

We are planning on white cabinets with either a dark walnut or very light cherry floor. We want to keep the kitchen on the softer side without a big contrast between cabinetry and countertop. Would either Santa Cecilia or Giallo Ornamentale work? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-08-20 10:54:02 |
Holly: Giallo is rather even and should not be a problem with seams. It's more important for you to find out where the seam will be placed. Avoid a seam through the whole depth of the countertop at all costs! |
|
Name: Holly | Date: 2007-08-18 20:44:20 |
With a good fabricator, is Giallo Ornamental fairly easy to match up seams? Some of it has movement to it - though the actual "speckles" are on the smaller size. I love the look, but am leary of matching up seams with the movement... |

Carol, instead of trying to match the colors, why don't you use something more contrasting for the knobs? Unless the color matches perfectly, it won't look good. Use the knobs as an accent to the cabinets. |
