Becky: Neutral tile will be ok. As far as the sink goes, keep in mind that over time the sink will get stained and fade. |

Hi, I have white cabinets (in the kitchen), black countertops and trying to decide if i should go with a white sink. Also trying to decide if neutral tile will look good for the floor. |

Renee: Correct, Granite it is. I'd say that you have a pretty open color palette there. If you like Ornamental, try the other Giallos and also Santa Cecilia. |

Maria: It would work and would be a subtle contrast. |

I have medium (honey color) oak cabinets and off white ceramic floor, would vecchio oro or giallo ornamentale work for the countertop? Walls are light cream. Thanks! |

Kara: That's really up to you. Personally, I'd probably go with the light option as the floor is already serving as the visual "anchor" to the whole design. |
|

pauline : Well, it won't be very contrasting. I would suggest a darker stone. Perhaps Baltic Brown ? |

I have white cabinets, dark split brick floor, for now, and black appliances. I want to put in granite and a tile backsplash. I can\\\'t decide if a dark color (such as butterfly) to contrast with the cabniets or a lighter color to maybe make the kitchen look bigger would be better. Any suggestions? |

I have almost decided to put Golden Butterly in my kitchen but now I am worried because the cabinets are light maple and the floors are light hardwoods (but I am planning to change the floors eventually to a darker tone -maybe a cherry or walnut. Do you think the Golden butterfly is a good choice? |

Denny: For the floor tile, I'd go with something rather tame... maybe slate. Backsplash, can be in the same colors as the countertops, but a shade or two darker. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2008-10-08 12:43:11 |
Mary: Using an overall light color shouldn't be a problem, but I would choose tile that's not uniform to add some texture and pattern to the whole kitchen. |

Hi, What color tile floor goes well with Giallo Venezia and birch cabinets? While I'm asking, what about backsplash? Are we running the risk of being too light? |

We have giallo ornamental granite for our kitchen countertops cream colored cabinets. Small kitchen. Putting large porcelin tiles in for flooring... any suggestions on colors? Was thinking light beige/sand tones, but will that be TOO light? Should we try to go darker on the floor? Thank you! |

Lou Ann: Lets see... With most of the kitchen in white, going for a dark color shouldn't make it drab. In fact, it will create a lot of contrast which should be exciting and lively. |
|

Lana: Well in your combination of materials and colors these two might get "lost". I would suggest something more contrasty, such as Giallo Fiorito or other dark Giallos. |

I have white cabinets, hard wood floors, I would like a dark counter top with white subway tiles, will be too drab? Is there a insert tile shape and color that I could add to the backsplash. I have white appliances, what color sink?
Yikes! I need soooo much help! |

We have medium oak cabinets, light tan walls, darker/rustic type wood floors and black appliances. We were thinking giallo ornamental or Sta. Cecilia countertops & travertine backsplash. Heard you weren't fond of Sta. Cecilia or New Venetian Gold. Any suggestions? |

Mary: Bianco romano for a classic look and Ornamental for a more modern look. Floor is a blank canvas, it should be fine with any neutral colors. |

My cabinets are white, walls neutral, trying to choose between Bianco Romano and Gallo Ornamental counters which do you suggest? Also what color tile for floor? |
|

Chris: Usually having two different wood finishes and two different granites doesn't yield good results. There's just too much going on. I would suggest staying with one granite color and two different wood finishes. |

We are planning on medium cherry cabinets with a white painted/bronze-glaze island and possibly a red birch floor. We have black appliances and were wondering if absolute black would work or should we go with something softer like giallo ornamental. Either way I would like to use something different on the island. What would you suggest? |

tracy cornwell: With white cabinets you really have a huge selection of colors. I would concentrate on warm browns with some highlights. Try some of the stones from the Giallo Family. |

We have white cabinets, red oak, rustic grade hardwood flooring, with a natural stain, and stainless appliances.. Our kitchen is not that large and is open to the rest of the house? I desperately need suggestions for granite colors.. |

We are planning on white cabinets with either a dark walnut or very light cherry floor. We want to keep the kitchen on the softer side without a big contrast between cabinetry and countertop. Would either Santa Cecilia or Giallo Ornamentale work? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-08-20 10:54:02 |
Holly: Giallo is rather even and should not be a problem with seams. It's more important for you to find out where the seam will be placed. Avoid a seam through the whole depth of the countertop at all costs! |
|
Name: Holly | Date: 2007-08-18 20:44:20 |
With a good fabricator, is Giallo Ornamental fairly easy to match up seams? Some of it has movement to it - though the actual "speckles" are on the smaller size. I love the look, but am leary of matching up seams with the movement... |

Bianco Romano, Bianco Cardinale... these look like marble the most, and are light also. |

Golden Beach would fit the description. Some Kashmir Golds and Golden Valley might work as well. |

We're building a new house and stuck on kitchen counter material. I love marble but have come to agree not suitable for kitchen. many granites look too "speckly" for my taste. planning on white cabinets and walnut (somewhat dark) hardwood floors. suggestions? thank you, |

Hi my cabinets are antique white or you may say a cream color with brown trim on the borders. Would like my granite to be a rich gold, cream, brown, slight black colors any recommendations. Looked at giallo venezia but looks to orangy to me. |

Ornamental will definately work. Delicatus is a bit brighter. |

My cabinet is natural oak and the floor is medium dark oak. Will Giallo ornametal work? One of my friend suggests Delicatus White. What is difference between these two material? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-02-23 15:52:05 |
As long as the white on the cabinetry is not a cool tone, this will work fine. |
|
Name: bonnie | Date: 2007-02-21 18:16:13 |
Would this look good on bright white cabinets? The floor is oak and someone suggested I use a gold tone granit? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2007-01-23 17:37:04 |
Vickie: Yes, this is close. Santa cecilia has a bit tighter pattern though and is more yellow. Both choices will do the trick! You're on the right track. |

I am most impressed with your craftmanship and excellent website! Is the above similar to Giallo Santa Cecilia? We have medium dark oak cabinets and light floors and are trying to decide between GSC and Giallo Napolion. Any suggestions? |

Carol, instead of trying to match the colors, why don't you use something more contrasting for the knobs? Unless the color matches perfectly, it won't look good. Use the knobs as an accent to the cabinets. |
