Steveann: You can go either way, in the end it's which look you like better. And if for example you have a spacious kitchen with lots of sunlight, go dark granite, but if you have small kitchen with not much light, then pick the light granite.

I have the same problem----white cabinets----I would like a Country French look----ubatuba or a light granite?

Cris: In general light granites are more susceptible to staining. Try Bianco romano and Bianco Cardinale. You can cross marble off your list if you have small kids.

Looking for the whitest granite w/white cabinets, but Aug08 Consumer Reports says Duponts Kashmir White
performs poorly when resisting stains. Is it safe to assume all white granite is not that stain resistant? 1st choice is carera marble but afraid to install w/toddlers. Any other suggestions or pictures of other white granite/white cabinets?
