Debbie: Going with one granite all around is easier and safer. Any of those granites you mentioned are an excellent choice, very rich and warm. I would give the edge to Star Beach though, seems a little lighter.

We are having dark brown cherry cabinets, comaru varigated wood floors and was wondering about Athena,Greco Brown, Star Beach, or other suggestions for island 5X8 and counter. 2 different styles or stay with 1.

I am considering Volga Blue countertops. Do you think the backsplash shown above would go with the primarily black countertops? Any other suggestions for a backsplash? Is the backsplash shown a stainless steel or tin tile?
