karen Y: Sorry, I did get confused there myself. What I meant was that you should use either a lighter or darker color. The idea is to create contrast between the different colors in the kitchen. So Platinum Bahia would be darker than the cabinets. The colors you mention in the second post would work. |

it's karen y. again--sorry-I think I now know what you meant. You meant lighter than the "black" right? Got it now--excellent! Would rust, gold, beiges, creams and sage greens go well for wall and especially adjoining eat in kitchen area? |

Thanks for the response but now I'm confused. The cabinets are similar to the Minwax color called "Oriental Ginger" (Like a cinnamon maybe) When I said dark, (because I like contrast)- you suggested maybe lighter countertops like Platinum Bahia which is very dark. Please explain--sorry, It's a lot of money to me& I just want to be sure. Thanks!! |

karen: I'd go with a nice warm brown like Platinum Bahia. The floor can be a light color such as beige or light gold. |

karen y: The key thing to remember is that you probably shouldn't try to match the colors. It would blend in together creating a big monotone plane. How about going a bit lighter with the tops? |

I am having medium to dark cherry cabinets and I was wondering if this Golden Valley would work well. Or should I go with the darker Platinum Bahia or verde butterfly. |

nocistastra: Yes, if you surround it with darker colors, it will shine in your kitchen... you're an artist - you should know that! |

do you think that this color would look good with a darker backround/floor?
(im an artist so i like contrast, but is it too much?) |

I'm thinking of using this in master bath. Walls are rich ("SW's Mannered Gold)floors will be beige travertine, as will shower. Fixtures oiled bronze. What do you think? |

What number is this in your stone selection? |

Karen, I don't see why you couldn't. Although tropical brown is a rather darkish stone, it's fairly uniform. |

please help! I will be painting my colors off-white/cream with an antique glaze. My floors are very lighteutral. Can I go with tropical brown or is the contrast too great?

The name is Golden Valley. As far as the seam goes, it looks the least distracting in the middle of the sink. We always try to avoid placing a seam on the whole depth of the countertop. |

Do you recommend the seam in the center of the sink? Also what is the name of this granite color? I've seen one called Laguna Gold which was attractive. |
