We are having dark brown cabinets and a medium beige tile in the kitchen. We have dark brown hardwood in the living room. Our house is open concept. Should we go lighter or darker? I don\'t want things to get too dark? My husband likes tropical brown. Any suggestions dark or light?

Katie: A lot going on but I think it's a strong design. This stone is rather "soft" looking and should look quite nice among the various wood types.

We are building a house and plan on cabinets as pictured in your "madura gold" picture on your site, this granite, dark, wide-planked wood floors with a hint of cherry in the floors (but more chocolate than cherry), jeffrey court quartz brick fire & ice backsplash. Does this all go?

deborah : Should be the same stone. When you hone it, the gold will turn more pale.

kim Stefl: It's hard to say definitely whether it would go or not. I think it would certainly fall into a more toned down color scheme. If there will be any contrast between the stone and the cabinets, it would be minimal. Best solution in your case would be to acquire a sample of the stone (and others) and bring them home.

we have oak cabinets with maple floor natural stain, cabinet stain is early american I was wondering if this would look good, or if you could recommend another type of granite that would look good. Our cabinets are not very old and we do not want to replace so anything that you could suggest would be very much appraciated.

Nancy: Contrast would be good with the floor but not much with the cabinets. It would be a toned down look. If that's what you're looking for, it's good.

I am building a house and LOVE this island!! My kitchens only 13'10"X15'8" (open floor Plan). Could this be down sized? Or would it take away from the design?

Kathy: This island is HUGE! It is around 14ft long and 7ft wide. There is a seam going through the whole width, at the sink. Use the Zoomify button under the picture to see if you can spot it!

What is the size of this island? Are there any seams in the granite?

Ro: I'm not sure how light or dark your cabinets are, but as long as you keep good amount of contrast between them and the vyara gold, you should be fine.

I have toffe colored cabinets in maple and a medium gray tiled floor. I am considering vyara gold granite countertops. Would that be a good choice? Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Barb: I would have to agree here. You have to keep it toned down to avoid conflict with the island.

Looking for a granite that would go with cherry cabinets and light oak floors and be a companion to a marble on the island that is rainforest green. What do you suggest? Is Juparana golden Vyara the best choice?

I absolutely love this granite! Can you please tell me if it also goes by a different name? (Golden Vyara maybe, even though it looks a little different to me.) And also, how do I order a sample of this granite from you all? Thanks so much!

All Granite and Marble - Moderator

Date: 2007-07-11 10:41:06

Katie: similar but not exactly the same. Vyara gold is tipically more vibrant and more expensive ;)

Is Juparana Golden Vyara is the same as Vyara Gold? Thanks

I am building a house with cherry cabinets/hardwood floor and stainless app. I had initially chosen Gallo Ornamental for the tops but love the Jup Vyara Gold, too. Would one work better than the other or is it simply preference?

Krystal: Yes, this color will set off a beautiful contrast between the cabinets, the floor, and countertops.

As far as tile goes, you will have to call our office to find out the availability. Since this kitchen was photographed a few months ago, the same batch of stone will not be available in tile. The depth of this stone is 1.25" or 30mm

Date: 2006-08-05 18:01:35

does this particular variety "juparana vyara gold" come as a 18x18 tile and if so what is the depth?also, what is the depth of the countertop in mm?

The stone here is Juparana Vyara Gold (also called Juparana Golden Vyara). That island is HUGE! It is actually made of TWO slabs. Can you spot the seam?

Love the look! What's the name of the granite?
