Mary: I guess it depends on the stone itself. In some stones the veining is so random, it doesn't really have a set direction, so you can go both ways. In most, we will try to keep the whole kitchen going in the same direction. Usually, you'd have just one seam. |

I have a 15x14 U shaped kitchen with a sink in the middle of the base of the U and a 3x8 island. Will a granite with lots of movement be overwhelming? If a granite with veining would be a good choice, would it be better to change the vein direction on the sink wall, or have the extra seam(s) required to keep the veins going in the same direction? |
