I have a 1500 sq. ft. ranch with an L-shaped kitchen. Can you give me an estimate on this color with backsplash. 5 1/2ft x3 1/2 ft x 2 1/2 ft x 2 1/2 ft Length and 2 1/2 deep.

Mary: I guess it depends on the stone itself. In some stones the veining is so random, it doesn't really have a set direction, so you can go both ways. In most, we will try to keep the whole kitchen going in the same direction. Usually, you'd have just one seam.

I have a 15x14 U shaped kitchen with a sink in the middle of the base of the U and a 3x8 island. Will a granite with lots of movement be overwhelming? If a granite with veining would be a good choice, would it be better to change the vein direction on the sink wall, or have the extra seam(s) required to keep the veins going in the same direction?

This is an Ogee edge. I don't think we have a 1/4 bevel on a picture.

This island is 5 feet wide. Yes you can do two tiers length wise.
