Have Giallo Vicenza granite counter tops with toffee colored maple cabinets, white appliances, neutral (tan) tile for backsplash. What color paint should I select? |

Carolyn: Most people go for contrast against white cabinets, maybe compliment the floor with something from the "Giallo" family. Take a look at giallo fiorito, ferenza, veneziano ect |

We have white cabinets, black stove top and oven other appliances are faced with white wood, matching the cabinets. Floors are red oak. What color granite countertop would you recommend? I am rather drawn to the oil rubbed bronze faucets. |

Betty: For a white granite take a look at "Classic White", it also has some light grey veining in it. Light colors will make your kitchen look spacious. |

Thanks for your wonderful web
site and help. My kitchen is
open to my family room using
white sofas and lots of San
Blas mola pillows from Panama-all vivid colors. My
wallpaper is white with small
black diamonds. If I should
want to go all white like my
present kitchen can you suggest a white granite? I guess I am afraid to make a
decision and choose black on
something that is going to be
a real visual impact that is
all open to the family room
and has a bar between them,
although black is one of my
favorite accent colors? |

Betty: Going dark would be better in your situation- so Ubatuba over Kashmir. |

Thanks. Looked at more of your pictures last night and saw Kashmir White and Uba Tuba. Would either of these
work? |

Betty: Seems like you are going with the black-n-white look, but the beauty of granite as opposed to engineered stones is that it has life and pattern, check out stones like Blue Night and and Cosmic Black RW. |

Thank you for all the information. My present counter is white Wilsonart formica and has a solid counter underneath. The replacement should be the same. I will try and check prices on granite as I would love to replace that with a white or black counter. My kitchen cabinets are white, backsplash white with a few black accent tile, floor-tile
light with muted gray/pink. Appliances are ss with black glass doors. Any suggestions? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-08-10 16:23:16 |
Betty: Simply because tile is not thick enough by itself you have to put other material underneath for support and it is actually is a much more complicated process. |
|

A friend used the granite tile and it was installed like porcelain tile. I heard
this is much more economical.
Why doesn't it work as a tile
counter? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-08-10 09:39:20 |
Betty: Only slabs of granite can be used for a countertop, tiles are not thick enough. For a price contact our sales dept. |

Our bottom counters are being
replaced in my white kitchen due to water damage.
I am leaning toward granite but with 65 square feet of white formica to replace
am wondering if granite tiles
would be a good option? |

rosalyn hirsch: Your set-up is very light overall, are you looking for a beach-house look? does your kitchen receive alot of natural light? I would go with some contrast, Maybe new venetian gold or Santa Cecilia. |

I have a very small kitchen, u shaped, white raised cabinets, light tan tile floor, neutral peach walls. white appliances. what color granite countertops would you select? would a full granite backsplash be better that a tile backsplash? |

lauren: Marble is a not a good choice for a counter or a island and its not high maintenance. |
|
Name: lauren | Date: 2009-07-08 17:25:56 |
is white carrea marble (honed) a good choice for an island and counters? Is it high maintenance? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-07-07 10:17:51 |
lauren: It's easier to do the same stone for both. The contrast with the island will make it stand apart. |
|

we have dove (off-white) cabinets and a dark walnut island. What is the best look for a granite choice? Should the island stone match the countertops? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-06-18 12:20:35 |
Kelli: That's for you to decide ;) By punchy I mean a lot more contrast is there so you'll have a much bolder look. |
|

Is punchy good? :) |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-06-17 12:20:35 |
Kelli: Well, a lot more punchy, that's for sure. Dark walnut would be very nice with Colonial Gold. |

How would this look with dark cabinets, the same backsplash, and the colonial gold counters? |

Could you please relay the dimensions of this island? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-06-08 15:45:55 |
karen: That would depend on the color of the granite. With this white it might be acceptable. It would still look a tad busy though. Not the best idea for a small kitchen. |
|

We have off white painted cabinets on our perimeter and praline for the island. its a 14x13 eat-in kitchen. Would it be too much to run this granite up to the bottom of the wall cabinets. I have heard that it makes the kitchen seem larger and add more depth. What do you t hink? or is it overkill in a small kitchen? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-03-09 11:47:23 |
Ash: That's a rather standard tile. I would think any major tile retailer would have this design. |

any idea where I can order the tile on the backsplash? |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-03-02 10:26:17 |
Karen: As you can see here, light can go well with white cabinets. For most people, darker colors seem more attractive. |
|
All Granite and Marble - Moderator | Date: 2009-02-27 15:16:40 |
kimberli: Yes, white granites are hard to come by. Also check out Valley White (it's in one of the videos) and Bianco Romano/Cardinale. |

Tan walls, white cabinets, cream tile floors, ss applicances. Would recommend Tropical Brown, Colonial Gold or Giallo Vencenza |

Im glad to see a "white" kitchen! I'm having a hard time choosing a GRANITE to go with my WHITE kitchen. I LOVE the look of the marble with a white kitchen. Any other granites that go good with white? |
