I am looking for a granite that as closely as possible resembles carrara marble: white with gray streaks; not too busy. Our counter tops will be honed black, our cabinets white dove and the island is what I'm now looking for. Thanks in advance for your advice |

Debbie: Matching to the floor is of secondary importance. Sometimes it's better to leave the floor alone and let it work as the visual base/foundation, while the cabinet and top lead their happy lives on top. That way you get a much cleaner look (without blending everything in). |

I am considering Bianco Romano. I can\'t get a kitchen drawer out to compare the whites of cabinet to stone. It is a pretty stone but doesn\'t have much beiges to pull the brown wood floor in...does that really matter if the stone doesn\'t blend with the tones in the floor? |

Debbie: In that case Valley White might be it. I'm out of other ideas. |

If I want clean and marble looking design...dies Vally White or crema remano or bianco Roman look bestter? I liked a pick also of Colonial gold because of the soft creams and veining but I can't seen to find soft off white with veining that doesn't have alot of prominent grays. Any suggestions? |

Debbie: Not necessarily. As bold as the pattern is, on countertop-sized pieces it looses some of the dramatic effect. |

Hey...if you have a small countertop space, would crema romano be too bold a pattern espcially if it has alot of charcoal gray in it? |

Debbie: Well Bianco Romano would be my first suggestion, but since you already looked at that, try Gold Antique (ID#834). |

I am having a terrible time picking a light stone for my white kitchen. I have all white cabinets and white appliances with varnished brown wood floors. I have looked until I am blue in the face. I am looking at white spring valley...this one is pretty in your pic. I am considering white roman, yet I can't find the warmer off white base in these stones I am looking at anything light...ornamental, etc. I have not looked at colonial gold. I have looked at White Everest, or crema romanos. My countertop space is not big...but I want sometehing that looks great. I don't know if I am looking at too cold a looks or what I need. Help!!!! |
