One more question. What type of wood are the perimeter cabinets? Maple, cherry, walnut, ?? |

Shana: Just guessing here but the perimeter cabinets look like walnut stain. Island is some kind of Ivory. No glaze on either one. |

Do you know what the stain on the perimeter and island cabinets are? Did either use a glaze? |

i never thought picking out granite would be so hard, I\'m wondering how this would look with oak cabinets early american stain with a natural maple floor and stainless steel appliance. I love the look of this piece. |

Cathy: No, The pattern has to flow from left to right. It cannot wrap around the corners, if you know what I mean. Also it be very hard to match the seam in the corner since it will be very long. Take a look at this picture: http://www.marble.com/countertops/galleries/full/kitchens/54.html
Notice how the veins go in one direction. That's how you want your kitchen to look. |

We have a L shaped countertop, should the granite be cut at a 45 degree angle at the corner so that the pattern flows around the kitchen? |

Tina: When you have such a strong pattern as in Tiger, it's more or less ok to match one of the colors it consists of. So even if you get close to the gold, the black will be there to set it apart. And don't forget that the intense patter will also work in your favor. |

We are redoing our kitchen in a dark oak cabinet with moderate door detail. We have seen several dark gold/black granites similiar to tiger but I am not sure if the gold is to close to the oak color. I love the look of golden lumiere but bot sure if these colors are practical in a kitchen setting. Your Thoughts |

Michelle: Yes, that's fine. We consider 10" to be a comfortable distance from the cabinet. |

I can only get 10 to 12 inches as a radius do you think that would work? |

Michelle: It looks like the widest it gets is about 18" overhang. Should comfortably seat 3-4 people. |

what is the width on the widest part of granite. From the front to the farthest part of the radius. How long is your island and how many stools can you set up? |

Amy: I don't necessarily agree that these cabinets are plain, but I'll gladly take a look at the photos. Use the Contact Us link in the menu. |

I just want a pro opinion to make sure that the busy oak cabinets will look ok. These cabinets have no grain, and mine do. That's the only thing that I am hesitant about. I just don't want to have too much going on with the granite and cabinets. I am SCARED!!! I hate making decisions like this!!! |

Amy: If you like this kitchen and yours is very close, then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pull it off with the same stone. Good luck with it! |

I love this kitchen!! I am trying to update my kitchen and want this look. I have red oak cabinets with busy grain, I am having an island built just like the island in image 16, same color and all. I love this kitchen and am wondering if I can get away with this exact granite and island with my oak cabinets. They are basically this color, just with the oak grain. I plan to do similar backsplash also. My floors are the same color as the floor in this image. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!! |
