I am in the process of designing a kitchen for our new house. I am planning on having cherry cabinets with an islan. On the island I would like to use Anlcara but I am unsure of what to the rest of kitchen in...something to compliment??? Thank you... |

Terrie: The two names you mentioned is the same stone. In addition to the Santa Cecilia, you should consider Tahoe. And something similar to the Cecilia but a tad warmer would be New Venetian Gold. |

shelly: That's fine I do not see any problem in doing this. |

I have off white kitchen cabinets and would like to know what color granite would look nice with the cabinets. I would like something with a dark brown in it--but not too much gold. Thinking St. Cecilia or Santa Cecilia--not sure what the difference is. Please help! |

I'm thinking of doing a unique edge like chiseled & brushed with the verde butterfly on the china but afraid that these two different colors of granite might be odd in the same room? |

Thank you so much for your help! I have another question...If I go with the NVG in the kitchen, would it look odd to do Verde Butterfly on our china hutch that is nearby? (Our floor plan is open with the china around the corner a bit...all cabinets including the china are cream. |

Shelly: Yea, it's should be the same thing. Since NVG is not so dramatic, using different edging would be a good way to spice things up, go for it! |

Thanks--I'm thinking about the Venetian Gold--Is this the same as "New" venetian gold? Also, as far as edges, I was wondering if it was odd to mix them? Our island has a raised bar top---I was thinking of doing an ogee edge on that with flat polished edge on the perimeter and on the lower part of the island. Or do you think it would look best to do all of the edges ogee with the venetian gold? |

Shelly: I'd go with New Venetian Gold over Santa Cecilia on the island, it's a little warmer. Perhaps Tan Brown on the perimeter to compliment the floors, or if you want darker then Brazilian Black. |

I love your website and would value your opinion on our remodeling...We have painted cream cabinets, open floor plan with brazilian cherry wood floors, current backsplash and nearby mud room tile is a cool grayish greenish with a hint of gold...all appliances are cream (biscuit)...looking for the right granite color to work with our existing features...also our walls are painted SW Artifact ( a deep oliveish greenish shade)...any suggestions? I need help! I've been thinking of Santa Cecilia on the island and maybe a black granite on the perimeter? all cabinets are cream |

Jill: Compliment the beautiful Santa Cecilia, a warm beige or cream color will look nice - like a travertine look. |

I just ordered santa cecelia for my kitchen. Plan to replace floor with tiles..can you recommend a color? Cabintets and appliances are white currently and thinking restrained gold by SW on walls. Want a warm tile on floor since cabinets are white. |

liz: There is no granite that will look remotely close to Carrera marble. Take a look at Classical White though, it is a quartz based stone that is more durable than marble, a safer alternative for the kitchen although it is not a true granite. |

thanks Debbie, what other granites would you suggest similar to the carrerra marble? |

liz: Stay away from marble for the kitchen. Take a look at Santa Cecilia. |

This is somewhat similar look and layout to our kitchen - darkish oak cabinets with stainless appliances, small window over sink, center island but ours has cooktop there. Our floors are darker hardwood and our walls are BJ Grecian Green. I would love carrerra white marble for countertops but probably not practical. What do you suggest. thanks |

Debbie: I agree that Santa Cecilia is a bit pale. How about New Venetian Gold? |

We have dark cherry cabinets and are replacing the countertops, backsplash, and floor. I would like your opinion on what you think would look best. I think the Santa Cecilia is too light for my taste. Any suggestions for the counter, floor (tile), and backsplash? |
