bev: For something lighter with movement maybe something from the Juparana family or Giallo Ornamental. Brazilian Black on the perimeter. |

If you saw a piece of 100 yr old tiger oak antique furniture with it orginal finish you would be looking at the color. Mimwax stains colors walnut and cherry mixed 50/50 will match it spot on.This wood is highly figured. |

bev: What color are the cabinets? |

I had thought about doing under cabinets in black,as there are under cabinet lights and island in a light granite that has black. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m so afraid of getting too dark. I like viening but need something durable.I would like two different stones as everything is heavely figured wood(think tiger oak) there isn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t much room to add a wall color with paint.the wall cabinets are 107 inches tall. |

Russ: Both are excellent choices and close relatives, but I would give NVG the edge as it has more color out of the two. |

I just purchased birch cabinets in a light stain (looks like natural color). I have a Terra Cotta color floor. I'm thinking Santa Cecilia will bring the contrast of the foor and cabinets together. would you recommend a darker or lighter stone in this case? |

I have natural cherry cabinets with a natural birch floor and was considering St. Cecelia - but am concerned it is to monotone - would consider a darker/blacker/dark green but have a kitchen table in same room that has uba tuba service - so it has to WORK with the uba tuba. (and I don't want all uba tuba nor do I want it to look too dark)... Your thoughts? Going for a more contemporary look. |

Renee: I think it would look nice, you should install accent lightning, for example recessed lights, if the natural sunlight is not optimal. |

Would giallo napoleone be compatible with peacock green on an island? The flat working surface will be GN, and the raised bar surface will be PG. The cabinetry is maple with mocha glaze. The kitchen countertops are going to be PG. Our kitchen has a cathedral ceiling, but not alot of natural light. The house is an open floor plan with dark wood beams throughout.
Second question, should we be concerned about the lack of light with respect to the darker countertops? |

Chris: Santa Cecilia would look good, especially the occasional burgundy speckling in this granite would compliment the cabinets beautifully. |

We have natural cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, a reddish brown tile floor and a light creamy yellow glaze technique on our walls in our Victorian home. Our walls are cream colored wainscoting below the glazed area. We are considering the St. Cecilia for our countertops and wonder if that would be a good choice with the colors. |

I recently purchased a brazilian cherry floor. Does a maple with a sable glaze cabinet go with this? |

Roseann: We only carry premium quality slabs, Santa Cecilia is a common stone that is why the price is affordable, NOT because it is cheap. |

I am a little confused now. I really like santa cecelia, but I am getting this impression it may be on the lower end of quality and cost?? Please help me before I make a final decision. Thank you, Roseann |

How do I determine how deep the bar top should be in a fairly small kitchen, any suggestion? |

steven: Considering the price, durability and looks - it's hard to recommend a different countertop material. You're on the right track color-wise. A nice gold stone would compliment both the cabinets and floors. Try Madura Gold. |

I have dark stained Cherry cabinets w/ natural Brazillian Cherry hardwood floors. We like the look of granite. What do you recommend for color and is there a better alternative? |

Sandy: I'm not allowed to recommend anything else! Just kidding. Lets work on this. How about you send me a photo of the room. I'm interested to see how "white" it really is. You can send the photo to walter at marble dot com. |

Thanks for the suggestion to use Bianco Ramano. I am wondering if this will be too much white in my kitchen and make the white appliances stand out too much? Do you have any ideas on which granite would pull the teak floors and white appliances together? Do you think it would be better to go with something other than granite? Thanks again. |

Sandy: I have to admit that the white appliances are making things difficult. Have you considered light colors though? Try Bianco Romano and see how you like that. |

I have medium colored oak cabinets and a light almond colored ceramic tile floor. The kitchen does not have a lot of natural sunlight. Do you think this color would look okay or Giallo Vicenza? |
