Jeanna: Go with the lighter colors, NVG or Cecilia, will create a beautiful Tuscan feel. And the occasional burgundy speckling in those stones will compliment the cherry finish in your new table :) |

I have maple kitchen cabinets that are a toffee color and with similar color hardwood floors. The walls are painted "chocolate raspberry" which is like a deep eggplant color (but sometimes can look merlot, depending on the light in the kitchen). The kitchen has a Tuscan feel (the other accent colors are olive green/creams/black) My appliances are bisque/cream colored. I like New Venetian Gold, Santa Cecilia and Giallo Vinceza. Do you think any of them would work? Or would a darker granite like Cafe Imperial, Tropical Brown or Black Ubatuba be better? Not sure if it matters, but we just bought a new kitchen table which has a black-rub through/cherry finish. Any insight would be appreciated! |

Hi there - I'm having a dilemma over which color granite countertop to choose. I'm torn between the Santa Cecilia and the Emerald Pearl - I have dark cherry wood cabinets and dark cherry wood flooring. I love the emerald pearl, but am afraid that it would be too dark in my kitchen. We will have a lot of lighting..... |

Jess: They are very close. I recommend getting samples of current stock and bringing them home. There's no better way to make the right choice. |

I know the three of these are very similar, but would like an expert opinion of their differences: Giallo Napoleone, New Venetian Gold, and Santa Cecilia. We have knotty alder cabinets with walnut stain and cream natural stone backsplash with metal decos. |

M. Lopez: Looks to be travertine. |

Can you tell me the name of the tiles used for the backsplash? |

Rose: Well, lets dissect this. You have two colors of cabinets - cream perimeter and walnut colored center island. Madura Gold: Goes well with cream, low and pleasing contrast. Chestnut island will be a few shades darker but of similar warmth. More contrast here (and good because that is the focal point of the room). NVG: Pale yellow coloring with brownish accents will blend itself in to the cream cabinets creating less contrast than Madura. Island would benefit from the lighter granite because it would get even more contrast and "pop". What you won't get is that warmth. Lastly, Giallo Veneziano: Should produce a lot more contrast with the perimeter cabinets then the other two stones. It would come close to the island though, therefore shifting the attention away from it. So to sum up, I think Madura just might be the best choice here. But that's just my opinion and you should get samples of all stones to verify. |

I've asked you before about my lightly glazed cream colored cabinets and chestnut colored cherry island-I was considering the Madura Gold because it was one of the few large slabs that would cover my island I'd found. Now I've also found New Venetian Gold and Giallo Veneziano. Floors are oak stained early American. Any thoughts between these choices? Thanks. |

Georgia Beringer: It might get too dark I'm afraid. Keep in mind that the floor doesn't get as much light as the countertops do. I would suggest some sort of a varied tile (man made or natural) in the hues of brown/gold/beige. |

I have New Venetian Gold Granite in my kitchen and am struggling with tile for under the cupboards. Do you have suggestions? What about the darker brown that is in the granite, could that be used in six inch tiles without getting too dark. My cabinets are cherry. |
