Bob: It would look nice if everything is granite; a better flow. |

We are updating our kitchen with slab granite on our existing oak counter tops and island. We have a built in desk next to one of the cabinets. Should we replace the oak top with granite or stick with the oak desk top? |

Janice: Most people put up a tile backsplash, from the granite to the upper cabinets. |

Janice: The Ubatuba will create a sleek, traditional look, while the NVG would be a neutral, country-style atmosphere. Either choice is beautiful in it's own way. |

Is it acceptable to have a granite backsplash in the kitchen or is it better to have tile? If tile is preferred, should it go to the bottom of the cabinet? |

I have medium oak cabinets and wood floor. We have a skylight over the island & lots of windows. Can't decide on granite - New Venetian Gold or UBA Tuba. Is dark on the way out? |

Shirley: You should go with a neutral tumbled travertine. |
