Susan: I'm leaning towards the Vicenza, it's not overwhelmingly dark but creates excellent contrast. |

We have medium to light oak (honey) cabinets., ss apliances, nned to get floor and backsplash. Next to the cabinets, Giallo Vincenza seems to pop with alot of peach color - not sure about that. I also like NVG - not so much contrast but I do like the more muted tone. What's your opinion? I'd appreciate any other suggestions. My home is decorsted in lighter colors. |

Beth Walker: Very nice choice. The occasional garnet speckling in the NVG will compliment the cherry nicely while the beige highlights will offset the cabinets. Another suggestion would be Crystal Gold. |

We are trying to make a decision on new countertops. Cabinets are med cherry and the floor is a white tile. Appliances are black. We are thinking about New Venetian Gold. Good choice or bad? Any other suggestions? |

Andy: Either one of those you mentioned will look nice in your set-up, but the Giallo Ornamental does not have as much garnet or burgundy flecks as the others, and you already have plenty of those color tones in your kitchen. A simple tumbled marble tile for backsplash and a neutral beige on the wall should tie everything together. |

Thanks.
Out of curiosity, why Giallo Ornamental rather than NVG or santa cecilia? What is the difference?
Any receommendations for tile or paint?
Thanks. |

Andy: I'd go light for contrast and an inviting atmosphere -- perhaps Giallo Ornamental. |

We have Mulberry Alder cabinets and birch wood flooring (specks of red and brown). Any recommendations? |

lisa: Yes -- a light granite will fare better in this set-up. Take a look at Giallo Ornamental and/or New Venetian Gold. |

Greg: You are on the right track; the NVG will make the kitchen look more inviting and provide much needed contrast. |

We have medium cherry cabinets and cherry floors. Currently we have beige/ bland Corian and we are changing to granite.
I want to do our island with Metallic also called Cosmic Black or asterix cosmos and on the perimeter we were thinking about Opalescent. I really like the Metallic but I'm concerned it will be too dark and I don't know how the differing granites would work together.
On the contrary my wife was looking at New Venitian Gold. I can see this would be more universal for re-sale. In addition it seems like it would feel warmer than the black.
Can you offer some thoughts? |

I'm remolding my kitchen right now, and I have red oak floors with Maple Cordovan cabinets. Would New Venetian Gold be a good countertop to lighten up the area. What other countertops would go with this combination? |

Cindy: I would say a darker stone, take a look at Baltic Brown. |

I am virtually 100% sure we are using New Venetian Gold in my kitchen remodel - perimeter cabinets are Medallion Maple cabinets in a Morel paint finish w/ Vintage glazing and island will have a Pecan stain w/ a burnished finish. The island surface will also be NVG. The new space is open plan and you will be able to see the bar in the adjacent family room from the kitchen. (Bar cabinetry will also be in Pecan w/ the burnished finish for continuity/visual interest.) Basically, I want to go with a different granite on the bar surface in hopes that it will complement what is in the kitchen rather than competing with it. (BTW - I am definitely going with a different granite in the Family Room as we are doing a full height NVG kitchen backsplash and feel using the same material on the bar/fireplace surround is way too much NVG - even though I love it!) |

salley : It would be a nice delicate look; easy on contrast. Make sure that the maple is lighter than the stone or choose a darker batch of NVG. |
