judy d: Keep it light, as the set-up so far is very dark. |

I have Golden Oak cabinets, light ceramic tile floors, black appliances, and am planning on installing tan brown granite. What color tile backsplash would you recommend? |

Michelle: Yeah, it might not be a good idea to have to many dark colors. Ubatuba plus the medium oak will make the room too dark. maybe try a lighter color. |

I have medium oak cabinets and an similar colored oak floor. I like uba tuba but wonder if I should either darken the cabinets or floor to give some contract. |

Chris: In that case, I would go with the Tropical Brown. |

I dont like Baltic Brown at all. So, I should stay away from a darker, black granite top? and go lighter? or am I safe with Tan Brown or Tropic? any other suggestions of a color granite? |

how would tropic brown or tan brown look with Maple cabinets that have a ginger sable finish, black appliances ,and red oak floor look? Should I stay away from dark black granite because of the black appliances? |

John: Tropical Brown is a consistent stone it there will not be any color variation. I would go with Tropical Brown on everything. |

We're redoing our kitchen with coffee cherry and moss glaze paint cabinets. We like the look of tropical brown but wondered how much variation is in the color. What type of travertine would you use to lighten the look? Would you use a solid Cambria type for the perimeter counter and keep the tropic brown only on the island? |

Sharon: Tropical Brown would be fine, contrast is always good. If you want to go a little lighter take a look at Tan Brown. |

Would this color granite go well with maple cabinets? I have a dark uba tuba now and have always liked the contrast, but not sure if we should go a little less contrast with tropic brown or a granite even lighter? What would you suggest? |

Pat: It's a good choice. Should go very well with both wood colors. You could also try Autumn Tree. |

I have a more "brownish" cherry wood cabinet and a cream island (w/white oak floors). Will Tropical Brown go well? I like it. Any other granite you would suggest? |

Diane: Tropical Brown is one of those understated stones that fit in almost anywhere. For the backsplash, try 4" travertine or tumbled marble tile. |

We're giving our kitchen a facelift. Our cabinets are painted bright white and we have stainless steel appliances. Our walls are painted a soft beige. We haven't decided on our flooring yet. I've seen a sample of tropical brown and really like it. Do you think this would work for us and what type of backsplash would you recommend for this color of granite? |

Anji: It's a lot of contrast. It might look a bit heavy on the light maple. |
