jenny: Bold is good :-) If you are afraid that it's too busy, using this for the island but going with a calmer, toned down granite for the perimeter is a good idea. |

We have rustic cherry cabinets-fruitwood stain with black glaze, light oak floor, large island and a red/rust brick fireplace in the room. we are thinking about something like this granite for at least the island, or a red malibu. Too bold? Any suggestions? |

I am remodeling my kitchen with hazelnut maple cabinets. Would Tiger Skin be a good color choice? |
|

MR: It's a near perfect fit. The base colors here are light yellows and grays while the pattern is a rich brown and black. That combination ties the countertop to the wood while keeping a lot of pleasant contrast. As for the backsplash, one option would be to use travertine tile as pictured above. |

I have light wood cabinets (natural maple) and light wood (honey oak) floors. The wall is currently a pale butter (open to change). Will the Tiger skin look good on my countertop? What would be a good color for backsplash? |

Jane: Tiger Skin is pretty strong in my opinion. All stones you mention are good options. If you do commit to one of the strong patterns, make sure you really like it because changing the design might be tougher later down the road. |

We have natural oak cabinets and a white oak floor with natural stain; appliances are black and trim and wainscoting are white (haven\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t chosen backsplash or wall color yet). Trying to decide between something like this tiger skin (black and gold, or something really strong like Labradorite Astral) and something warm and light, like colonial cream. Any suggestions? |

I have builders grade Oak cabinets and golden oak floors (a lot of oak everywhere). Woudld super classico granite look good with this or should I stick with black and something like mascarlleo for the island? |

I love the Tiger Skin.
We have ash cabinets and a Terra Cotta ceramic tile on the floor. Also have a large island in center. Do you think the Tiger skin will look good? |

marsha: From your description, you should probably go with a busy pattern. Both stones will work here. I'm more partial to the Juparana, mainly because it hints some grey in it, which will tie well with the fireplace. |
