anita: It can, that's why you periodically seal your stone and try not to leave potentially staining substances like turmeric powder on the granite for prolonged periods of time. As soon as it spills it should be wiped off. And if it does stain, the stain can be removed with a few easy do-it-yourself steps. |

Tina: If you have plenty of sunlight and an open space then a dark countertop like Tropical Brown or something from the Butterfly family will not shrink the room and would provide plenty of contrast. But if your kitchen is rather dark and smaller then a lighter countertop like Santa Cecilia or New Venetian Gold should be used as it will brighten things up. |

I have medium oak cabinets with a solid oak floor and all black appliances. Do you have any sugestions for granite countertops for me? My husband wanted to go dark but I think it will make the room smaller? Your opinion please... |

Sherry: I would recommend sticking with one color. You'll probably want a light colored granite with a darker speckles, like Santa Cecilia. |

I have a fairly large U shaped kitchen with large island with cooktop. Should I consider 2 different styles/color granite for each so that it will not be so much of the same color granite. Any suggestions? I have med cherry cabinets. |

I am putting Santa Cecilia granite in my kitchen. I have dark maple cabinets, black appliances and wood floor. Now I need to pick a sink. Can\'t decide between biscuit or cafe brown. I have bronze faucets. Your thoughts. |
