    Installation Question

    Hello Everyone,

I had my kitchen installed yesterday by your company and I LOVE IT. The Astoria granite looks great with my cabinets. I couldn't find a better price for the stone I fell in love with. Your service was so easy and literally pain-free, I can't wait to re-do my bath!!

Anyway, I forgot to ask the installers if they sealed the stone and how long before I need to seal again. Also, I am considering White Cararra for my master bath with cherry cabients and white carrara floor tile. Do you think it will look good having the same material for the floor and the vanity top?

    Thank you in advance,

    Jenn Young

    Jenn Young,
Congratulations on your Astoria purchase! It’s a beautiful stone with many soft and interesting features. Please note our technicians seal every project we install. We recommend you re-seal your stone every 6 months to a year depending on the usage and wear and tear. If you are an avid cook and entertainer, you should consider sealing it more often.

As far as your bath is concerned, I think the White Cararra would look very elegant against your cherry cabinets and White Cararra floor. Matching your floor tile to your vanity top is becoming more trendy and popular. I see more and more people are starting to use the same materials for their flooring, backsplash and countertop in their kitchens and bathrooms.

Let me know what you think!

    Jenn Young,

I recommend to reseal marble every six months, and granite reseal should be done about once a year. The sealing of your new countertop was performed as part of the post-installation process, this service is included in your price.

I agree with Kinga that White Carrera marble against a dark cherry cabinet is very rich and has an old world feel. If the budget allows, you should also consider Calacatta Gold, another famous and gorgeous Italian marble.

Thank you both! Once I am ready for the bath remodel, I will take a look at both materials plus the million and one other stones you carry

I really appreciate your time and thank you again for a BEAUTIFUL kitchen!!!

    Dishwasher screws

We just had granite countertops installed and I can't remember what kind of screws we should be using for the dishwasher installation. Can you please remind? Thanks.

Are you doing a top mount or side mount for the dishwasher installation?

It's a top mount. They glued (?) two wood blocks to the underside of the granite where screws should go. Thanks.

    We recommend 3/8th screw size.

The blocks are there so you can screw the dishwasher into place. You should use 3/8 screws.
