Granite color help
We are purchasing Thomasville cabinets, Plaza with toasted almond glaze. We are looking for a darker granite with lots of movement. We have pine wide plank floors with lots of dark knots. Kind of gold, but I don't want to make it look any more gold. Any suggestions on some dramatic granite choices?

Lori,
Can you provide me with a website link or a picture to the exact color of the cabinets? I'm having trouble finding this shade on the Thomasville website, but I want to make sure I give you accurate suggestions. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Here is a link to the cabinets http://www.thomasvillecabinetry.com/Maple-Cabinets.aspx. You will find numerous photos there. Thank you.

Lori,
I've been to that section, but that's not the actual page to your specific cabinet color, it's a list of all Maple cabinets. My problem is that I'm having trouble finding and pin-pointing your specific cabinet color, which you've informed me is: Maple Plaza with Toasted Almond Glaze. Is that correct?
For example, I can find others such as Maple Piedmont Toasted Almond Glaze, it's quite odd! I must be missing something.

Lori,
My suggestions for an excellent contrast to your cabinet color would be Brown Alpine, Golden Noir, Hurricane, Kosmus, and Metallic.
If it falls in your budget, the Altair is an absolutely gorgeous stone that would surely make a marvelous statement and be the focus of your design.
For suggestions such as the ones I've named, it's best that you have a large, open kitchen space with a centerpiece island and plenty of natural light to show off the pattern and movement in the stone. Good luck!

Thank you. I think I like the Kosmus the best!

Lori,
I'm happy that you're enjoying my suggestions! The best advice I can give is to look at the full slabs in-person as you only then get to really visualize the beauty and grandeur scale of these stone slabs created by mother nature. Then you should pick-up samples of the ones you're attracted to (such as Kosmus) and bring them home to put your choices against the kitchen cabinets in the natural light of the space. Good luck!
