    Granite that looks like marble?

I love the look of carrera, but since the area in question is going to be a wetbar, I'd feel a lot safer going with granite. Is there a granite that you can recommend that looks like carrera, but won't have me stressing out over every spill?

I did see a "white fantasy" slab at another location, and was wondering if it was actually granite, as I've seen it listed as quartzite on some websites. Is there any other style that has the look of carrera?

I also like the look of Kashmir white, as a potential alternative.

For reference, our cabinets are white shaker-style, the walls are light greige, we plan on doing a carrera subway tile backsplash (this could change depending on the counter we select), and the floors are a light bamboo.

    Thanks!

    Jane,

If you're looking for a true granite alternative that is light and similar to marble, I recommend to consider colors such as Kashmir White, Snowflakes, Valley White, River Valley, and White Spring. I believe the White Fantasy would also fall in this category.

Quartzite is also a suitable alternative as we install kitchens with this material without any issues. Take a look at Classic White, it's very popular. You would still have to reseal all these stones at least once a year to keep the countertop stain resistant.

Thanks for your reply Derek! Can you let me know what price categories each of those colors is in? I can't seem to find them on the website.

Also, I took home a few samples from your South Plainfield location this past weekend, but neglected to write down the names! Can you help me? They are: 3607R DS and 3325R SG.

Thanks so much for your help!

Thanks so much, you've been super helpful! What do you think about pairing the White Fantasy with a carrara subway tile back splash? We have white shaker styled cabinets, and the walls are a very light greige (leans more towards beige in the space in which the wet bar is located). I originally wanted to go with Kashmir white, but didn't really love the way the carrara subway tile back splash looked with it....

    Jane,

White Carrara marble subway tiles are an excellent backsplash idea to go against the White Fantasy granite as it's a terrific compliment and will pick-up the color tones in the Fantasy nicely. I've attached to my post some suggestions (2" x 4" sized and a Mini-Brick Mosaic) for you to help you visualize the tile options available. Good luck!
