Hi, Derek is currently unavailable so I will try to help you. In terms of design thinking I would recommend you to take a look at the whole slab in natural light, take the sample home and compare it with your cabinets. Both stones are similar to each other they'll provide an elegant atmosphere to your kitchen, so I think that is really fantastic choice !
Hi Derek - I just finished a summer cottage - all the walls and cabinets are knotty pine with a natural finish - lots of natural light so very bright. My wife and like Altair and Lotus - but not sure which would "pop" more. What are your thoughts?? The floors are also a natural/light hardwood - but there is lots of dark stonework. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hello there. The white glass backsplash would be a contemporary design, while a log house is generally decorated to have a traditional feel. If you're OK with having the glass backsplash, I would recommend the Mirabelle Collection smoky brown glass tile in a brick pattern because it's on a white background but also has golden highlights to offer some warmth at the same time. Are there any specific granite's that you're interested in? I feel that the countertop should be settled on first before moving on to the backsplash, which I think should be the last decision to make. I've attached a photo of the tile in-question. Let me know your thoughts!
i have a log house my cubards are cherry with hardwood floor same natural color as walls i want new countertop and back splash, i have stanless appliances what color top and back splash would you remend. i am swaying to sometype of black top with gray, stanless, white glass backsplash due to the amount of brown in my house what do you think?
Hello there! On behalf of Marble.com, I offer you a heartfelt THANK YOU for the warm complements on the installation and the countertop itself. The Altair looks absolutely stunning in your kitchen and we are extremely pleased anytime a client offers their thoughts on their experience with us! :-) We wish you a joyful New Year and many years of happiness thereafter with your beautiful Altair granite countertops.
Hello. The Altair is SUPER PREMIUM price category. That means that it's a specific price that can only be quoted directly by the sales office. They will require the measurements for the project to give you an estimate: www.marble.com/contact
What is the price category for this stone?
Hi Joey. I'm sorry to hear about the problem you're having. Was the countertop installed by us? (All Granite & Marble).
Just to chip in: my only concern about products from China would be quality control. Make sure you have it done by a reputable source that you can trust.
Dear Derek:
I bought Altair for out kitchen just under two years ago. The cleaning lady was not careful enough. When she cleaned the metal stuff, I believe that the metal fell on the edges of sink. So, about 1 inch long and 0.3-0.5 inch of the edge of sink fell. Is there any way your people can fix this? It is not in a hurry. I am thinking to use Altair to build a table to match the Altair counter. I am thinking 9 feet to 10 feet long and 5-6 feet wide with edges matching the counter top. When this is done, if your people can fix the missing part, they can do the repair then.
Joey
Dear Reggie:
Have you got it done yet? I have been thinking of building the table with Altair too. I have Altair as our kitchen counter already. It looks great. So, now I would like to have the table. I am thinking to build the base in China and ship it here. I have one table of stone in China but it doesn't look good and yet the base looks good. This is why I am thinking to get the base done in China.
Joey
Excellent idea! A large table made out of a beautiful granite such as Van Gogh or Altair will be a sight to behold and make the table a focal point of any room it's in. Now for the base, we do not provide this and you would have to have it ready for the table to be placed on top of it. I recommend to read the following article to familiarize yourself with what kind of base is needed for a granite table: http://tablebases.com/faq/inde... Hope this helps.
I wanted to build a custom shaped granite dining table (9 to 10 ft long), using either Altair or Van Gogh. Was wondering what are your thoughts are on this and, what would your suggestion be for the base as it need to hold such heavy weight. Thanks, Reggie
Hello! Sorry for the late response. The Kosmus granite is a wonderful choice! It's one of my favorite colors actually and would contrast your wood color nicely. I also recommend Cosmic Black and Hurricane. Hope this helps!
We are remodeling our kitchen. We have purchased maple cabinets, painted mushroom and with a cocoa glaze. They are light in color, a creamy beige. Our new floor tile is tan and cream. I am looking at your Kosmus granite, as it looks chocolate brown with creamy veins, on your website, but I am being told that it is a black to dark gray color. Please advise and maybe suggest another stone that would work.
Seems like you have a very open design plan with the light cabinets. Are there any colors that have caught your attention so far? Are you leaning toward a light or dark countertop color? Do you enjoy veins and movement or a more consistent, speckled pattern on the stone?
hi,what is the best granit color for my Antique White kitchen
I am interested in the Altair granite. We have 55 sf of countertop, and we have our own fabricator. Do you sell slabs to other fabricators?~ Ellen
I'll check out Derek's suggestions of the other colors. Hubby and I didn't get to talk about it much last night as he worked late and will do so tonight so guess it'll be tomorrow night before I have his full attention! I want him to sit at the computer with me and focus on the selections!

Thank you, thank you!
We recently replaced our kitchen cabinets, they are Hampton Bay->maple-?lewiston->toffee finish. We like this stone, would you recommend it for that finish?
Thanks,
