Hi, I really love your idea about the kitchen. Regarding to the countertop it all depends if you prefer to have a veins or more consistente colours. You have choosed two different types Ubatuba and Butterfly which are consistent however Ambrosia Gold and Verde Matisse are veiny. I'm thinking that if you have already calm and white kitchen with a lot of light the countertops with veins will give you a distinct character but not too busy, so I would go with Verde Matisse. I hope I could help you !

  • Reizdan Moore 12:58AM, Mar 7 2013

I'm redoing the kitchen counter tops. The kitchen is open  14' x 20' including the kitchen table (in front of patio door area). The cabinets are light colored maple, the appliances are white, with a drop in white sink and faucet. The floor is a whiteish/cream ceramic 12" sq tile. The walls  divided by a 1/2 wall from the adjacent family room are a grayish green. I'm considering the Ambrosia Gold for the counter tops. Alternatively, I'm also considering  Uba Tuba, Giallo Vicenza, butterfly, and Verde Matisse. I need 50.25 sq ft, and I would like a less ordinnary edge (but price may make that less important).

Do you think any of these choices are better than the others?- Reiz

    Follow this link:
http://www.marble.com/material... and then you have to add backspace ( / ) then the stone IDs with each one followed by a comma that you want to compare.

How do I get the comparison tool that appears in Kinga's link?

  • Eula Arnold 09:36PM, Feb 9 2012 Hi, i am using the Rustoleum cabinet restoration kit "Rustic Glaze"  in my small "L" shaped kitchen.  I will install NVG granite countertops, Piazza Di Spagma floor tiles.  The floor tiles will also be place at my front door and fireplace. I have an open floor plan with a panoramic view of kitchen, dining and livingroom, both will dark cherry furniture. I am a 47 yr old who loves traditional, warm and  cozy.  My goal is for every area to flow. Please help with the following questions:
    1.  What is the best stone and accent inserts for backsplash?
    2.  What neutral wall color in kitchen, dining and livingroom will tie it all together?
    3.  What carpet color in living and dining area will tie it all together?
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:57PM, Feb 9 2012 Sorry for the late response Helen. How did your visit go? We do not have Desert River in-stock at the moment, but we have hundreds of similar stones and I'm sure you will be able to find something you enjoy once you look at the slabs in-person.
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:56PM, Feb 9 2012 Yes, although the small space could be an underlying issue because the Ambrosia Gold can get quite busy with it's deep, golden veining and movement. I recommend to bring samples home and see how they look in your kitchen next to the cabinets, and make sure to pick your slab in-person. Good luck!
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:39PM, Feb 9 2012 Bringing in a striking contrast to offset the honey color of your cabinetry is an excellent idea. The Imperial Coffee pictured on this page would pull this design idea off nicely, as well as Bahia Brown granite, and Ubatuba, Golden Jade, ect. Hope this helps!
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:34PM, Feb 9 2012 First of all, congratulations on a beautiful Giallo Napole granite countertop! For the backsplash, I recommend options such as 2" x 2" Pietra Antica Noce tumbled travertine, or 1" x 2" Beige & Mocha Ancient tumbled travertine mosaic. I've attached images of my suggestions for your reference. Hope this helps!
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:31PM, Feb 9 2012 We do not carry a stone called "Golden Typhoon" but we may very well have it under a different name because sometimes fabricators give a stone their own name. I do not know if these two stones are the same, but I can guess that they have some differences.
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:09PM, Feb 9 2012 Indeed, the Sahara Gold is full of radiance and overwhelming warmth with it's golden highlights and undertones.
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:07PM, Feb 9 2012 If you mean Portofino Classico, or Santa Cecilia Real, both of those are solid and warm choices, but the Cecilia would be a stronger contrast to offset your cabinet color. I've created a Comparison Table for you to see the difference:
http://www.marble.com/material... Some other recommendations for you to consider are Giallo Napole, and Toffee. For the backsplash, I recommend a tumbled travertine such as Oyster Mix Flamed mosaic:

  • Marble.com - Derek 03:44PM, Feb 9 2012 We do not service your state, we're located in the northeastern tri-state area of the country. You can fill out an estimate request here: www.marble.com/estimate and an affiliated fabricator in your area may contact you.
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:41PM, Feb 9 2012 I don't think its necessarily too busy -- there are various shipments of Bianco Antico out there and some have more movement than others, so make sure to look at the slabs in-person when you're picking the final selection. Some other recommendations for you that are similar but may be a bit less busy are White Spring and Snowflakes. Good luck!
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:39PM, Feb 9 2012 On the estimate, Bianco Antico is Single Gold category.
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:31PM, Feb 9 2012 Absolutely! We have the stunning Altair granite in-stock at our Ridgefield Park, NJ and Danbury, CT locations: www.marble.com/locations You will be able to see the full slabs and bring free samples home with you.
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:30PM, Feb 9 2012 We fabricate and install the slabs into countertops, not tiles. The slabs are 1 1/4" thick (standard countertop thickness).
  • Cindy 06:58AM, Feb 9 2012 Appreciate all the comments and suggestions. I did see these tiles and granite colors before I chose them (the new construction design center didn't have a big variety though). I was thinking to paint the walls in an apricot color though - I love bold colors and I want to maybe warm up the bathroom and lighten up the brown tones in the floor and shower wall tile - how does that sound?
  • Ilene 04:46AM, Feb 9 2012 Hi, My cabinets are being painted antique white, was thinking of New Venetian Gold till I went to a yard and saw Giallo Venetizano with beautiful soft brown colors and quite a bit of cream color.  Do you like GV with antique white?  Want to use subway tile for the backsplash, but don't know what tile to use.  I love bambo natural for the floor, I have natural old oak floors in my house, do you think this will look ok?  Do you like these choices or can you suggest others?  Thanks!
  • Deb 04:12AM, Feb 9 2012 We have chosen to use giallo ornamental granite.  My question is sink color.. should I stay with ss or colored sink.   Currently looking at Kohler sinks colors sandbar or black n tan...  Please reply
  • Pchl17 11:34PM, Feb 8 2012 I need your help.  I have to make a decision yesterday.  I have white/white cabinets and a Bruce hardwood Maple Cinnamon floor. I was looking at White Spring granite (which everyone thinks is too light and will make a boring kitchen) Verde Butterfly, which doesn’t have any movement and I have been told that green granite is out of style now  or now I am thinking about Giallo Ornamental.  What do you suggest? Will White Spring be boring? What back splash would you suggest for each of the 3 granites?  Thank you for your help.
  • Marble.com - Derek 07:42PM, Feb 8 2012 To answer your first question, my recommendations are Delicatus, and New Colonial Dream. Also, a new stone in your yards that could look very pretty in your design is Medusa, take a look here:
http://www.marble.com/blog/new... For the Master Bath, I also recommend the antique white cabinets to create a stunning contrast the set-up needs.
  • Jlchamas 05:38PM, Feb 6 2012 Would this color granite look good with honey colored cabinets and floor?  Small space.

    Thank you.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 08:31PM, Nov 8 2011 I agree! The Ambrosia Gold is a fantastic choice for your setup. Go for it!
  • Marble.com - Derek 08:15PM, Nov 4 2011 Absolutely! Make sure to look at the granite in-person and pick the exact slab and cut you wish to have as your countertop as the Ambrosia Gold has a rich pattern of golden veins that changes throughout the stone. Good luck!
  • Patriciadelugo 02:12PM, Nov 4 2011 we're remodeling our small kitchen, we have stainless steel appliances, oak cearamic floor and copper ceiling would ambrosia gold go well with this?
  • Marble.com - Kinga 12:43PM, Sep 26 2011 Also take a look at the Colonial Gold, Golden Riviera and Juparana Exotica S. Let me know what you think! http://www.marble.com/material...
  • Marble.com - Derek 02:00PM, Sep 23 2011 I'm not familiar with what Tropical Sienna looks like. Where did you find it?
  • Marble.com - Derek 02:00PM, Sep 23 2011 The Ambrosia Gold pictured on this page is a very pretty option. It's rich golden veins will compliment the colors tones in your design nicely, while the light background of the stone will contrast your darker cabinet tone. Another option could be Atlantis, or New Colonial Dream. Good luck!
  • Tpikennedy 06:11PM, Sep 22 2011 theres a color of granite I have found, and it is called Tropical sienna, is this what this one is ? looks very similar.....
  • Tpickennedy 06:08PM, Sep 22 2011 I have black appliances, oak wood floors, my cabinets are going to be,dark walnut to dark cherry,....Wall color is called Kenya, ( cinnamon ,pumkin mix) ...my trip is a soft white, also is my fireplace, we have a open floor plan...this granite will be on my huge Island and some counter top, will this go well,if not what do you suggest...thanks ,tpick
  • Anh Sobo 08:39AM, Feb 4 2011 Do you have any pictures of this with dark cabinets? I can't get the 2d or 3d thing to work. Thanks
    • All Granite and Marble 08:59AM, Feb 4 2011 Anh Sobo: Unfortunately we do not have finished kitchen Ambrosia Gold pictures. You need to have Java version 1.3 installed for the virtual showroom to work.

    • All Granite and Marble 03:20PM, Feb 5 2010 Donna: Either one will work great, up to you on the final decision whether or not you want to add any green tones with the Ubatuba.
  • pat masi 06:18PM, Jan 10 2009 i have cream counters, black doors and trim/cream walls and the fireplace is cream in the center w copper around the base.I need something that will poll it all together for the stone that will be on the side of the firescreen and the counters on the cabinets.HELP
    • All Granite and Marble 02:34PM, Jan 12 2009 pat masi: You'll need to really describe to me what color each element is. At this point I don't know where the stone is going.
  • Shana Wilson 12:43PM, Aug 17 2008 My cabinets will be very dark brown (almost Wenge). I'm thinking of limestone for the backsplash. Your thoughts?
    • All Granite and Marble 04:35PM, Sep 19 2008 Shana Wilson: Should be ok.
  • Meredith 04:30PM, Jan 22 2008 Would Cinnamon colored Cherry cabinets go nicely with this granite? What kind of backsplash would you recommend with these colors? Thanks.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:12AM, Jan 23 2008 Meredith: This stone will be great. For the backsplash, just use a neutral tile.
  • Beckie Harless 08:04PM, Jan 12 2008 Are you able to send me a sample of this Ambrosia Gold with the Lime Green splotches in it? Do you know a supplie on the West Coast that might be ablt to get it?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:23AM, Jan 16 2008 Beckie Harless: Sorry, we do not send samples.
