  • Linda 10:13PM, Jun 3 2009 I have natural oak floors and honey oak cabinets that are a just a shade darker than the floor. The appliances are stainless. My husband likes the solid black look, but I'm worried it won't blend with all the oak tones in the kitchen. Would Brazilian Black be a good choice for us.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:42AM, Jun 4 2009 Linda: First of all, it isn't supposed to blend in. You want it to contrast. Granted, black will be extremely stark with that color combination and that's not so desirable to most people either. Brazilian Black is a better option. Also, who does the cleaning? Black, especially Absolute Black (solid) will show every bit of dirt, smudge and fingerprint. Is he up for the challenge? Try Bahia Brown for a more manageable dark color.
  • Ramona 03:09PM, May 10 2009 OK, I have been looking at a lot of granite to figure out what I want to do with my oak cabinets (med) and golden oak floors. I am thinking about some sort of black countertops on the main work area's and then putting Golden Ray on the island. Is black impossible to care for (I really don't like high maintence)? What are your thoughts on the 2 color idea?
    • All Granite and Marble 11:13AM, May 11 2009 Ramona: I do like the two color idea. Black is going to require a bit more cleaning (because it shows dirt) but is extremely easy to clean.
