• Marble.com - Derek 09:42PM, Dec 21 2011 This granite may be too closely of a "match" to your cabinets, and not enough contrast to offset the cabinets. You should put a sample of the stone against your cabinets in your kitchen light to see how you like the combination. I'd use a darker color such as Kinga suggested. Unless you go all black, green, or a very light color, most stones will have a hint of golden undertones or highlights.

However, I do know what hickory cabinets look like and I envision a darker stone on your cabinets like Platinum Bahia or Imperial Coffee.  It’s very important to see any stone you like in person and bring a sample home to help you make your final decision.
• Carrie 01:40AM, Dec 19 2011 We are also considering brown Vicenza but would appreciate some good advice because we were a bit overwhelmed when looking through all the slabs of granite yesterday. Our cabinets are a rustic hickory with glaze and our floors are handscraped oak hardwood, a little on the dark side. I love our cabinets and floors and I'm a bit worried that these speckles in this granite may take away from our cabinets. Also, I'm worried that this granite may have an orange or peach tint and want to stick with browns and neutral colors? I have attached a picture of our hickory cabinets panel. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
• Marble.com - Kinga 12:07PM, Jul 1 2011 I agree with you Derek. The Platinum Bahia would look amazing in Wallybird’s setup. Maybe more so than the Imperial Coffee! But either way, darker is better for this setup to achieve that rich, timeless feel.
• Marble.com - Derek 02:26PM, Jun 29 2011 I really like Kinga's suggestions. Another option could be the Platinum Bahia. The reflective flecks will create a rich feel. You should go darker rather than lighter for the depth that you're looking for. A Noce or Mocha travertine tile for the flooring and backsplash is also a warm possibility that would fit your design quite well. I've attached an image of the Platinum Bahia. • Marble.com - Kinga 01:57PM, Jun 29 2011 If you’re looking for a rich, timeless look you should consider using the Imperial Coffee since dark colors are commonly associated with a rich, formal feel.  For your floor and backsplash, you should use a light tumbled marble with oil rubbed bronze accents for your backsplash and floor like you suggested to tie everything in. A light floor and backsplash will offset your granite and cabinets giving you that perfect rich, timeless look. Let me know what you think!
• Wallybird 01:07PM, Jun 29 2011 Our cabinets are oak with a medium American Walnut stain which has a slight reddish tone.  We will be replacing the counter tops, backsplash & flooring.  I am currently considering the Brown Vicenza or the Imperial Coffee as our granite.  Suggestions on granite, backsplash & floor tile would be greatly appreciated.  I am looking for a deep rich & timeless look when completed. I have also looked at Venetian Gold and Santa Cecilia but wasn't sure if this created the correct contrast.   We have all SS appliances with Oil Rubbed Bronze cabinets pulls, lighting & accessories.  My intentions where to put oil rubbed bronze accent tiles in the backsplash to bring it all together.  We have a center island which is where the stove is located and then three additional sections of cabinets & counter tops.  We will be using 600 sq. ft. of flooring when replacing.

  • All Granite and Marble 09:21AM, Apr 7 2011 Debbie: I'd use a warm, lighter color to contrast the cherry cabinetry. Some of my recommendations are New Venetian Gold, Amba Gold, and Colonial Cream.
• susan 08:03PM, Jan 19 2011 Would this stone go well with kraftmaid cherry cabinets in a cinnamon stain? I'm not sure if the stone is too dark.

• Gina 02:17PM, Feb 27 2010 I really like this stone, but the samples I've seen have a reddish tint. I'm looking for more golds/browns but I like the pattern and pearl in this stone. I have a sample called Butterfly Gold that looks very similar. Do you know if it could be an alternate name for the Vincenza?
