I have oak cabinets and I chose the verde butterfly for my granite. The floors for a brownish ceramic tile and I'm having a hard time choosing the backsplash. Any suggestions?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:14AM, Jul 14 2010.
Rachel: I suggest to use a tumbled noce travertine tile.

We have off-white cabinets, black appliances, and are putting in butterfly green granite. What would you suggest for the backsplash and floor? We have heard gold would look good...any other suggestions?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:43AM, Jun 1 2010.
Guest: For the backsplash you may go into a sleek and elegant style with a simple, light subway tile. For the flooring, a travertine tile would look excellent with this set-up.

I have white cabinets with oak hardwood floors. Kitchen is open to the family room which has the same hardwood floors. I am leaning towards butterfly granite for the countertops. However, I am having hard time with backsplash color and paint color (closed soffet) above the cabinets. Can you suggest options? Thanks
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 04:07PM, Apr 26 2010.
Sue: For backsplash try a tumbled noce travertine tile. And Benjamin Moore "Honeyed Almond" for paint.

I have white cabinets and white tile floors with dark green small tiles intermixed. Similar to pics above. Would u recommend verde butterfly or would uba tuba work? is uba tuba too black?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:36AM, Apr 10 2010.
Amy: I'm leaning towards the Butterfly, a little warmer.

We have 2 different colors of cabinets: ash and crimson red (sort of like this website) from Diamond. We also have ash floors. What color granite would suggest to tie the whole thing together.

Ted: Are you leaning towards a light or dark color so far?

All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 08:59AM, Jan 22 2010.
ladyrose: They are all very similar stones from the same family with variations in color tone, and the verde butterfly will create a warm, traditional atmosphere in your kitchen.

what granite color do you recommend for natural cherry cabineT?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 01:40PM, Dec 5 2009.
usha: The Butterfly pictured above will look great.
Bob - GUESTat 08:01AM, Nov 28 2009.
The floors are off white tile; the cabinets will; probably be very light maple. It's a small kitchen, but well-lit, and lake views in Florida and are leaning towards a darkish counter. Would a strong pattern be overwhelming? Would this be too dark.
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:24AM, Nov 28 2009.
Bob: I think you will be alright with the shade, but a lighter option in the greens is Pocono Green. This pattern is not overwhelming, it will look good.
anu - GUESTat 05:19PM, Oct 12 2009.
i would like to know if this color will look good with cherry cabinets , my kitchen size is not very big ..so i dont any marble color which will shrink the kitchen
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 05:25PM, Oct 12 2009.
anu: You might want to look at Butterfly Green, it is a little lighter, will make the kitchen look more spacious. How is the natural light in your kitchen?

one more question. I want a granite sink, since I have white appliances do you think I should stick with the white sink or go with black?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:39AM, Mar 27 2009.
anita: I think white would go well with the appliances.. Black is ok with the stone itself though.
anita - GUESTat 09:49PM, Mar 22 2009.

Kathy - GUESTat 08:24PM, Nov 24 2008.
Thank you. I went out looking again today and found a granite named Golden Sun. Lots of gray, creamy white, rust, warm tan, copper, etc, with movement like Creama Bourdeau. Does that sound better? Galaxy scares me--contrast and upkeep!
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 10:05AM, Nov 25 2008.
Kathy: It won't be as contrasting as the Galaxy, but I like the idea of a well defined pattern. That alone should make it pop.

red oak floors stained lt-med nutmeg, white cabinets, stainless appliances. There is gold, copper, dark brown nearby & large NE windows. How about Galaxy with a copper backsplash or V. Butterfly with a matching BSp? Other suggestions? The white has been difficult, since stones in granites are often cream or gray, etc.
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 09:45AM, Nov 24 2008.
Kathy: Yes, finding a white granite is going to be nearly impossible. I would stick to other colors. As far as the butterfly goes, it might not go too well wit the red oak floor. Galaxy is a fine choice, but be prepared to have a lot of contrast.
Jean - GUESTat 07:46PM, Nov 5 2008.
cabinets are pickled oak w/pinkish tones, floor is multicolored w/teal&grey plus others, backsplash is white; appliances stainless.....will butterfy go with this combo or have I fallen in love with the wrong color granite?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 08:30AM, Nov 20 2008.
Jean: Pink vs Green. That color combination might not go together so well. It really depends on what kind of pinkish tones we're talking about. My suggestion is to get a sample and put them together.

We are putting in new kitchen with light maple cabinets and light taupe tile floor. Would like something with color like butterfly. Your thoughts?
All Granite and Marble - MODERATORat 04:43PM, Nov 19 2008.
Sue: Butterfly is always a good match to maple. Keep in mind that this is a green and might prevent you from using reds in the rest of the decor.
