The Carioca Gold granite has very warm highlights in a tight, consistent pattern that would contrast black colored cabinetry very nicely, as well as complement the golden brown floors at the same time. I think it's an appropriate choice for your design. However, I'll give you a few other recommendations to consider. Take a look at Toffee, Giallo Vicenza, and Tropical Brown. Hope this helps!

I have stainless steel appliances with the side cabinetry color black,  my hard wood floors have been recently been stained golden brown would this color make a good match? Any other suggestions?

  • Marble.com - Derek 02:57PM, Jun 14 2011 I'm leaning towards the New Venetian Gold as a warmer choice. Another option could be Santa Cecilia, or Giallo Ornamental.
  • Deancgeorge 10:00PM, Jun 13 2011 we are considering a remodel with light beige tile flooring and maple cabinets with beige appliances... wondering about the carioca gold granite, or the new venitian gold... Any thoughts on that combination... thanks
  • Dick 09:54AM, Apr 12 2011 We have natural hardwood oak floors, golden oak kitchen cabinets, appliances are light beige, how would the carioca gold granite look?
    • All Granite and Marble 10:14AM, Apr 12 2011 Dick: Perhaps this set-up would be a little too "gold". I'd use a darker color, for example the Tropical Brown or Baltic Brown.
  • Lizzy 02:54PM, Apr 3 2011 would carioco gold look good with black appliances, tile-look flooring, glazed maple cabinets?
    • All Granite and Marble 10:45AM, Apr 4 2011 Lizzy: May be a little too gold. I'd use something darker, try Giallo Vicenza or Tropical Brown.
  • Mary 06:15PM, May 1 2010 Do you think that Carioca Gold would work. It is a bit darker than Giallo Ornamental, but the bit of pink in it worries me a bit.
    • All Granite and Marble 01:43PM, May 3 2010 Mary: Get a sample of the Carioca Gold and put it against the cabinetry in your kitchen light.
  • Linda 03:42PM, Feb 23 2010 How would this look with white cabinets that have very slight undertone of yellow and black and amber?
    • All Granite and Marble 05:00PM, Feb 23 2010 Linda: It would look gorgeous, sleek with plenty of contrast. You have a flexible design with white cabinets.
  • Jim 09:33PM, Aug 13 2009 I'd like your opinion on this combination: Maple Hardwood floor in Sumatra, Maple cabinets in Cognac and Carioca Gold counter. Oh, and stainless applicances. The kitchen itself has no windows, but it opens to a morning room which is well lighted with natural light. The floorplan of the home is open - the kitchen also opens to a family room with windows. We're also considering Santa Cecelia. Thanks!
    • All Granite and Marble 09:28AM, Aug 14 2009 Jim: I'm thinking Santa Cecilia would be better because it's a little lighter - more contrast highlights the cabinets.
  • Francesca 02:38PM, Mar 24 2009 I have golden juperano on my countertops with pickled maple cabinets. My island will be a walnut wood and I was thinking of this for the top. What do you think?
    • All Granite and Marble 11:06AM, Mar 25 2009 Francesca: It's hard for me to say without seeing the kitchen. Not sure how everything will work together.
  • PAM 11:17AM, Dec 17 2008 DO YOU THINK THESE WOULD BE TO DARK? I WANT SOMETHING TO BRIGHTEN THE KITCHEN. WOULD GOLDEN DESERT,GOLDEN DREAM OR JUPARANA RENOIR WORK. SHOULD I STICK WITH PEBBLES OR VEINING?
    • All Granite and Marble 08:43AM, Dec 23 2008 PAM: They seem alright. Maybe getting too close to the cabinets again. But that's for you to decide.
  • PAM 12:40PM, Dec 12 2008 WOULD THIS GO WITH PROVINCIAL STAINED OAK CABINETS.MY FLOORS ARE RUST, GOLD AND GRAY SWIRLED STAINED CONCRETE. WALLS ARE TAUPE,U SHAPED KITCHEN - NOT TO BIG AND FAIR AMOUNT OF NATURAL LIGHT. IF NOT COULD YOU SUGGEST SOMETHING ELSE. THANKS
    • All Granite and Marble 05:44PM, Dec 16 2008 PAM: I'm not too fond of tight grains like in this stone. Especially when they get close to the surrounding colors. They tend to blend in a lot. How about something like Giallo Vicenza?
