Hi, My recommendations for your backsplash is to use natural honed stone to keep everything in the same style. I think that travertine tiles might work. I've attached two different colours of travertine, the first one is Ivory Travertine and the second one is Tuscany Beige. I hope it will work !

We are in the midst of picking out a counter top and having some difficulty. We like the idea of granite but our house is a cape cod and grandeur doesn't fit well. Originally we like the honed granite (and still do). We are looking for an old stone feel - like in Europe with very old stone counter tops. Our kitchen is bright yellow (think South of France - Provence yellow). We have butcher block on cream cabinets elsewhere in the kitchen. The Costa Esmeralda looks like it may work (not with the yellow though so we may have to paint or get a full back splash so that the yellow is not against it). Can you recommend a comparison to this stone as well as a possible back splash? Thank you so much!

The Costa Esmeralda we have in-stock at the moment looks most like ID: 514 on this page. As you can see, there are slight and subtle pinkish undertones and hues but all of the Costa Esmeralda's I've come across carry this trait. Some other options that I think your fit your design nicely and fall into the criteria you're attracted to that we have in-stock at the moment are Verde Sequoia, Verde Belaggio, and Coast Green. I've created a Comparison Chart for your reference. I hope this helps:

We have seen quite a range of coloration for Costa Esmeralda. Our favorite is forest green/ cream/ white coloration, some lots have particularly beautiful veining and marbling effect. But hard to find, and not sure in the end it's a good match for our cabs. We like Magic Green but this is not available. We have a galley kitchen with pecan cherry cabinets, stainless appliances, and oak floor, would prefer to avoid stone that reads yellow, brown or pink. What would you recommend?

  • Marble.com - Derek 02:04PM, Sep 16 2011 Absolutely! It's a calming and beautiful choice that I've personally seen used against golden oak cabinetry with excellent results.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 07:53PM, Sep 15 2011 The Costa Esmeralda would be a beautiful choice for your setup. Its soft green tone and light pink highlights make it a wonderful option against grainy golden oak cabinets.
  • Marcia 06:54PM, Sep 15 2011 Would Costa Esmeralda  be a good match for grainy golden oak cabinets?
  • Karen C 11:29AM, Mar 27 2011 Small kitchen with medium cherry cabinets and black appliances. Cathedral ceilings are cedar same shade as the cherry cabinets. Do not want a dark cave. How would the costa verde go? also thinking Juparan Vyara
    • All Granite and Marble 09:36AM, Mar 29 2011 Karen C: I'd use the Juparana Vyara, it's usually lighter for a better contrast but that again depends on the batch of stone so make sure to pick your slab in-person!
  • Katie Lagvilva 09:14PM, Jul 25 2009 I need 45 sf Costa Esmeralda with doubleOgee edges for my kitchen countertop to be installed on Upper west side Please advice cost.
