  • Jocelyn Strong 06:18PM, Nov 12 2010 We have u-shaped European style kitchen that is ushaped with an island. and is one large room with the family room..The cabinets and base of the island are "antique" (cream). I'm not sure what the countertops are but they look very much like the Farfalla. black, yellow, cream, grey and burgundy/garnet/bronz spots. The top of the island is black walnut. We want to replace the walnut with with granite to be more functional, but want it to contrast the other counters. We have red oak gunstock hardwood floors (rustish like color).," Brick" colored walls in kitchen, and a dark gold color in the family room area. Our applicances are black with a litlle stainless. Kitchen cabinet hardware looks like antiqued nickle. The walnut brings out the the garnet /bronz spots in the surrounding countertops. We have rust colored leather furniture in the family room areas along with our entertainemtn centre which is a cherry like finish. Any suggestions for the granite to replace the walnut? We have been looking in the "black" family predominately.

  • Mindy 10:50AM, Aug 1 2010 Hello, We are building and will have creamy cabinets with a medium warm colored glaze. We want pale mossy green walls. We have very good natural light and the living room, dining area and kitchen are mostly open. Our granite man suggested Farfalla which we really like but am not sure about the paint color. We also like NVG. Our furniture is warmer tones but I have a lovely black grand piano which will be at the far end of the living room oposite the kitchen. We haven't picked floors yet. We like some contrast without being TOO busy. Our cabinets are gorgeous /custom and the house setting will be part of the 'draw' as well. The kitchen is a medium sized with no island. Do you have suggestions between the Farfalla and NVG or another option that might be better?
    • All Granite and Marble 08:45AM, Aug 2 2010 Mindy: I'm leaning towards the NVG as it's less yellow than Farfalla and more creamy/beige. Two other suggestions would be Santa Cecilia and Giallo Ornamental.
  • Tom/Tammy 11:19AM, Jul 21 2010 We are considering a Maple cabinet with a Cognac finish, nickel handles, SS undermount sink, horizontal run glass tile backsplash with travertine tile inserts, light green and medium brown glass. Whats your opinion on Giallo Farfalla, Giallo Ornamental, New Venetian Gold, Oro Brazil?
    • All Granite and Marble 08:54AM, Jul 22 2010 Tom/Tammy: I'm leaning towards the New Venetian Gold for a light and creamy countertop tone to compliment the maple wood.
