  • Marble.com - Derek 08:23PM, Feb 3 2012 The "pits" may be an inert and natural characteristic of the slab that you have. It's difficult and messy to have a whole countertop sanded once it's installed. I'm not sure how much it could help, but you could consider purchasing and using a product such as this:
    http://www.mrstone.com/stone-c...
  • Sandie 06:15AM, Jan 30 2012 I have this granite and love it.  I have noticed that it has little area's in it that are pitted though.  Is there a way to make this granite completely smooth and high gloss by sanding it?  It was sanded when we bought it, but still had pits in it.  I seem to be noticing more all of the time.  Thank you - Sandie
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:31PM, Dec 31 2011 I've created a Comparison Chart of the Giallo Veneziano that we carried at one point or another:
http://www.marble.com/material... As you can see, each shipment of stone that even if it's the same name, changes slightly in color tone and pattern over time. That is the unique aspect of natural stone, and that is why it's crucial for you to pick the slab you wish to use in-person.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 01:56PM, Dec 29 2011 We actually do not sell slabs. The granite shop you visited does not purchase from us as we are a fabricator, not a supplier. If it’s an important decision making factor for you, you may want to find out which supplier they purchase from.  If you type “Giallo Veneziano” in the search box on the upper right corner, you will be able to view our shipments. Good luck!
  • Robin 11:16PM, Dec 28 2011 Thanks for the quick reply, Derek. I stopped at a small granite dealer in my area today.  I saw one called Giallo Veneziano and loved it.  I suspect that they get the slabs from your company but I didn't see this on your website.  Do you carry Giallo Veneziano or do you call it something else?
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:47PM, Dec 28 2011 The Giallo Vicenza is a happy medium and would be quite appropriate for your design. Some other options you may want to consider are Brown Vicenza, Copa Gold, and Baltic Brown. Hope this helps!
  • Robin 02:00AM, Dec 28 2011 I have honey oak cabinets and white backsplash.  I also have natural oak floors.  I need some contrast, but I don't want anything too dark and certainly not too light.  I'm looking at giallo vicenza 170 - something with brown, gold and black.  Also, I'm wondering how you think it may go with my white tile  backsplash.  I really don't want to change the backsplash too...what do you think?  Should I try to get something with some white in it to match the backsplash?
  • Marble.com - Kinga 10:00PM, Nov 29 2011 I love Derek’s backsplash suggestion! If you prefer something simpler, a tumbled travertine is an appropriate choice.
  • Marble.com - Derek 06:57PM, Nov 23 2011 Sounds like you're going in the right direction. Check out Benjamin Moore "Squire Hill Buff" and "Lenox Tan" as my suggestions.
  • Jpat123 02:26AM, Nov 20 2011 If I have light maple cabinets and Vincena granite what color walls would you paint?  I was leaning towards a dark tan ( almost choc)  with white molding?  Your thoughts????
  • Marble.com - Derek 07:02PM, Nov 11 2011 The Giallo Vicenza is a fine match to go against light maple cabinetry. As for backsplash, I suggest a light travertine mosaic in a 1" x 2" split face pattern. I've attached an image for your reference.
  • Jpat123 11:07PM, Nov 9 2011 I have very light maple cabinets and have chosen Vencenza for my granite counters.  What type of blacksplash would you consider?
  • Marble.com - Derek 06:46PM, Nov 3 2011 Out of those two choices, I'm leaning toward the Giallo Vicenza as it radiates warmth better and would compliment your set-up quite nicely. Another option could perhaps be a shade of granite such as Copa Gold.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 03:16PM, Nov 3 2011 I feel a darker shipment of the Giallo Vincenza would be a great choice for your kitchen because it will give you a nice contrast and a warm feel. Another beautiful inexpensive options is the Santa Cecilia Real or the Giallo Napoleone. Let me know what you think!
  • Sydjax 04:48PM, Oct 31 2011 I am currently remodeling my kitchen. I have chosen mid continental cabinets in cherry briarwood, a warm medium brown. I am really struggling choosing a lower cost granite for the counter tops. We would like to stay in a medium color for the counters. Right now I am leaning toward Giallo Fiorito or Giallo Vincenza. What are your thoughts?
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:49PM, Oct 4 2011 I'm actually thinking more about the Santa Cecilia over the Giallo Vicenza for your set-up, but I'm leaning towards the Santa Cecilia Real variety. I've created a Comparison Chart for your reference. I think the Vicenza (depending on the batch) may be a little too dark while the Cecilia will add the right amount of warmth and radiance to your design for a balance look. Here is the chart: http://www.marble.com/material...
  • Teresa 04:17PM, Oct 1 2011 Forgot to add that we have a large jacuzzi tub in the back center of the bathroom between the toilet closet and the shower that is almond.
  • Teresa 04:14PM, Oct 1 2011 We are remodeling our bathroom and have chosen Marazzi Aida Gold for our bathroom floor and shower. Our cabinets are honey oak. The walls will be changed from a yellow-gold to a taupe brown because the sinks will be ivory and the faucets and accessories will be Delta venetian bronze. We originally chose Santa Cecilia for the granite counter tops and bench in the shower but are now leaning toward the Giallo Vicenza. What do you think?
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:26PM, Jun 7 2011 Giallo Vicenza is a wonderful choice that is sharper and not washed out as the Giallo Ornamental. Some other options could be Giallo Fiorito or Giallo Napoleone. All of these choices look warm against honey oak cabinetry. Good luck!
  • MarthaMoye 01:51AM, Jun 7 2011 We want to put in granite countertops, but can't seem to pinpoint which color. At the stoneyard, we originally picked Giallo Ornamental, but when we brought the sample home, it just sort of "blended in with" the cabinets, which are golden oak. The floor is a light tan travertine looking ceramic tile, and the appliances are white. Our sink is a black/dark grey granite composite. We want the highlight to be on the new counters and let them be the "Wow!" factor in our kitchen. Would Giallo Vicenza provide us with more contrast, but without going overboard? (For the backsplash we chose a light tumbled travertine tile, but it will be installed with the granite counters.) One more thing- We are on a budget, so we can't get into the more expensive "exotic" granites. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Other granite color selections that would work well with our kitchen setup would be helpful, too.) Thank you!
  • Terry 09:42AM, Mar 31 2011 Can u mix 2 granites in one room? I have vicenza with brown/black/peachy tones on countertops and want to add an 4' wide x 24 island (maple auburn glaze)that will be a deeper color than my cabinets (maple coffee glaze). I went darker on the cabinets 4 island to make it pop. Should I stick with the vicenza (if I can still find same color combo) or what kind of solid granite would you suggest? Floor is very light beige travertine with fine brown veins & counter backsplash is tumbled travertine with occasional dark brown metal inserts). I was thinking black galaxy with copper flecks to make it pop. Is this too dark? Appliances are stainless - stove & DW are SS with black. My hubby says you guys did us right the last time - please help
    • All Granite and Marble 10:05AM, Apr 1 2011 Terry: Have you been getting my responses? I've answered this question more than once already. I feel the Black Galaxy will be a wonderful combination for the Brown Vicenza and you can use those two together. Are you still having doubts? Some other choices could be Kosmus and Cosmic Black.
  • Betsy 11:30AM, Nov 10 2010 Butterfly Antique is beauriful. I think you are right in the darker color. but is this granite more of a green? The pics on the right look very light in color versus the kitchen pics on the left.
    • All Granite and Marble 11:18AM, Nov 12 2010 Betsy: The Butterfly Antique is a very dark green. The Giallo Vicenza does not have any green tones in it. The finished kitchen pictures and videos are more accurate because they represent the color tone of the granite inside a kitchen with the appropriate light. The slab pictures are taken outside in the sun.
  • BETSY 01:28PM, Nov 8 2010 Forgot I also have stainless steel applicances. Not sure about backsplash. Maybe ceramic tiles that are similar in color to the tiles. Now that I think about it will the BM marblehead gold be too much with the tiles and floors? Black granite? Oh, I am so bad with colors!
  • Betsy 12:51PM, Nov 8 2010 I just purchased Kraftmaid maple chestnut cabinets and was torn between a dark granite versus gallo firito or gallo feranza. For tiles I was thinkging beige and Benjamin Moore Marblehead gold. I would love to hear your suggestions since the only thing I have right now are just the cabinets. I am horrible with matching colors.
    • All Granite and Marble 10:20AM, Nov 10 2010 Betsy: I'm leaning towards a darker color to create an elegant and traditional atmosphere. Take a look at Butterfly Antique, Brazilian Black, Cosmic Black.
  • Dean 03:29PM, Nov 3 2010 I have recently installed the Giallo Vicenza (looks close to the material ID #170). What would some good wall color choices be?
    • All Granite and Marble 10:12AM, Nov 5 2010 Dean: Take a look at Benjamin Moore "Honeyed Almond" and "Barely Beige".
  • Amy Jo 06:09PM, Aug 3 2010 We are redoing two bathrooms. One bath has a reddish./orange tile floor and the other has a white subway tile floor. Both baths have darker oak cabinets. Would Giallo Vincenza or Brown Pearl look better?
    • All Granite and Marble 11:23AM, Aug 5 2010 Amy Jo: I'm leaning towards the Giallo Vincenza for a lighter color tone to offset the vanity wood.
  • Alison 03:34PM, May 19 2010 My new kitchen cabinets are Kraftmaid HoneySpice w/Mocha Highlights. I was going to go with Brown Vicenza...is this the same as Giallo Vicenza?? This looks more golden than the very salmon/orangey colored tones in the brown vicenza. I really prefer the more golden/brown look rather than orange/pink and want the counters to pop so not sure if something darkler would be better? Would prefer not to go with Uba tuba as you see it everywhere! Plus any idea on paintcolor to compliment cabinets & countertop.
    • All Granite and Marble 04:45PM, May 19 2010 Alison: Brown Vicenza and Giallo Vicenza are two different stones. I'm leaning towards a darker stone, try Tropical Brown.
  • PRASHANT 10:58PM, Apr 6 2010 WHATS IS THE TILE NAME AND COLOR FOR BACKSPLASH IN THIS PICTUERE?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:04AM, Apr 7 2010 PRASHANT: Unfortunately I do not have this information.
  • Patty 06:20PM, Apr 6 2010 We have maple cabinets with an opal color (some call it pearl or white wash). Should we go with the Vicenza or a darker color?
    • All Granite and Marble 08:58AM, Apr 7 2010 Patty: Vicenza will look great. For a darker option I suggest Tropical Brown.
  • Rene 12:40PM, Mar 29 2010 Thanks for the renewed confidence! I actually did that and it doesn't look pink at all, so I'm going for it!
  • Rene 06:25PM, Mar 27 2010 Hi, Im purchasing a new home getting seneca ridge oak-natural cabinets. I really luv giallo vicenza granite countertops to match. I was told the color will b 2 pink. what do u think about my choice?
    • All Granite and Marble 12:31PM, Mar 29 2010 Rene: Take a cabinet sample and put it against a slab. Or take a sample of the granite home and view it by your cabinets in your kitchen light. If it does not look pink, then go for it! This is a great choice.
  • Diana 11:19PM, Mar 20 2010 I have nutmeg maple cabinets. My kitchen is north facing w/ minimal natural light. Present counters are white laminate with gold specks. Bo-ring. My style is traditional with transitional/contemporary leanings. Kitchen is 14x16 with an dining island. Considering 165L sample to cool off hot rosewood and teak in adjacent family room. Any guidance would be appreciated. P.S. Appliances are stainless steel.
    • All Granite and Marble 11:34AM, Mar 22 2010 Diana: Besides the Chiffon and Golden Rock, which are excellent choices, take a look at Crema Bordeaux, it's a warm and rich stone.
  • Judy 09:33PM, Mar 6 2010 We're re-doing our kitchen with Kraftmaid maple cabinets in the cinnamon color (brownish red). We have a lot of light in our kitchen, including 2 skylights, a window and a sliding glass door. The floor will be a sand colored porcelain tile. Would Giallo Vicenza or Giallo Venezian be a good choice for our countertops? Thank you!
    • All Granite and Marble 11:52AM, Mar 8 2010 Judy: I'm leaning towards Giallo Vicenza, it's a little darker.
  • Candus 04:46PM, Jan 2 2010 I have Giallo Vincenza counters and white cabinets. I am looking for something that adds a little interest to the tile between the cabinets and the counters and am having trouble finding the right tile color. Any suggestions. Also, I have no backsplash.
    • All Granite and Marble 10:19AM, Jan 4 2010 Candus: You could do a subway tile backsplash with some colorful earthy tone inserts...that would look very nice.
  • CL 09:00PM, Dec 3 2009 I have noticed many granite colors that are name "Giallo Vicenza" but have a different number to them and also same name yet a different color. Could you please explain this to me. I would also like to know what your thoughts are on this color with Oak cabinets and oak floors. The oak colors do have a contrast--cabinets a bit darker than the floors.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:24AM, Dec 4 2009 CL: The pictures of Giallo Vicenza are all the same stone, it is the various batches that we have delivered and they have differences. This color will look good with Oak but you may want to opt for more contrast -- perhaps Tropical Brown.
  • Lisa 03:45PM, Sep 17 2009 My hardwood has a orange tint (oops) white cabinets how would giallo vincenza look?
    • All Granite and Marble 10:13AM, Sep 18 2009 Lisa: It would provide plenty contrast and compliment the floor, go for it!
  • Diane 02:48PM, Aug 18 2009 I want to add an eat in area on my peninsula. Is it possible to get a piece of this granite that is about 12 inches deep and 8 feet long? I live in MD.
    • All Granite and Marble 03:50PM, Aug 18 2009 Diane: Please contact the sales office.
  • Ginnie 11:39PM, Aug 12 2009 We're doing Biscotti perimeter cabinets and a black onyx (on cherry) with a rub-through on the island. Would Giallo Vicenza look good? I think it would tie the two pieces together. (Floors are Brazilian cherry) Would it be better to go with a black granite on both pieces?
    • All Granite and Marble 02:45PM, Aug 13 2009 Ginnie: Looks like your mixing alot of colors there, I would use black on both pieces.
  • Trudy 09:49AM, Jul 29 2009 Thanks for the reply. We looked @ both of them, but our designer thought they were too yellow. I'm worried this one is too, although I don't really see yellow in it. Too brown?. Our first choice was Golden Crystal, but I don't see it on your web site. I don't know if it goes by another name. It is quite more expensive.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:54AM, Jul 29 2009 Trudy: Baltic Brown is a tad less yellow/orange.
  • Trudy 12:37AM, Jul 29 2009 Hello--we are still looking for granite. We have medium/dark cherry cabinets with a slight red tone, & bisque/biscuit appliances. When we went to the granite yard, this was one of the granites the salesgirl showed us. We liked it, but not a well as our first choice. This one is considerably less expensive. Do you think it will go with our cabinets & appliances? We are having a very hard time finding anything. We would be grateful for ANY suggestions.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:35AM, Jul 29 2009 Trudy: Giallo Vicenza would work, also check out New Venetian Gold and Giallo Veneziano.
  • CAROLINE 12:18PM, Jul 16 2009 What granites would you suggest that would go well with maple cabinets with coffee glaze? our appliances are black. Thank you for your suggestions. I would like to stay with a single blue or double blue category.
    • All Granite and Marble 12:24PM, Jul 16 2009 CAROLINE: Anything from the Giallo or Santa Cecilia family. Even Ubatuba if you want to go dark.
  • CAROLINE 03:56PM, Jul 15 2009 I visited your Plainfield store & came home with about 10 granite samples. We have maple cabinets with a coffee glaze. Online I like Giallo Vincenza but I am confused because the numbers on the granite samples I brought home are: 3516, A1L, 3406L, B19L, etc. How do I find out the "names" so I can view them online?
    • All Granite and Marble 04:06PM, Jul 15 2009 CAROLINE: The granite yard lot numbers and marble.com stone ID's do not match, therefore you must contact the South Plainfield sales office to find out the stone ID and name of the samples you brought home.
  • KT 02:17PM, Jul 15 2009 We are building a new house with hickory cabinets what granite would look best?
    • All Granite and Marble 02:23PM, Jul 15 2009 KT: Giallo Vicenza would work.
  • Cindy 03:09PM, Jun 14 2009 Having a difficult time deciding on granite color to match either natural cherry cabinet or red mahongany cabinets with toast bamboo floor in kitchen. Have considered Giallo Ornamental but seemed a little green and now looking at this color Giallo Vicenza or do you have a better idea? Medium size kitchen in 1650 sq ft condo.
    • All Granite and Marble 01:47PM, Jun 16 2009 Cindy: This is good. Especially with the Mahogany stain.
  • Sally 01:44PM, Mar 26 2009 Can I send a pic of my "now" kitchen and have you make a recommendation?
    • All Granite and Marble 11:17AM, Apr 3 2009 Sally: You can use our Contact Us page to send us your picture and we will be glad to make suggestions.
  • Jess 08:49PM, Feb 5 2009 I have cherry cabinets (autumn blush) and I'm not sure what color would look better. Santa cecilia or giallo vicenza...I need help!
    • All Granite and Marble 08:38AM, Feb 6 2009 Jess: Giallo will have a bit more contrast and therefore would look "sharper" than cecilia.
  • Marilyn 04:38PM, Aug 29 2008 I have chosen Giallo Vincenza. I have Natural Maple cabinets and Natural Oak flooring. I have stainless appliances and sink - what type of wall treatment above the counter top would look good. also any suggestions for a faucet other than stainless?
    • All Granite and Marble 01:54PM, Sep 25 2008 Marilyn: Oil rubbed bronze will do fine for the faucets and will match nicely to the stone. For the walls, keep it simple – choose one of the lighter colors that you are already using.
  • JH 09:08PM, Jun 14 2008 I'm getting white cabinets with a chocolate glaze and a brown floor. I'm looking for more of a country look and thinking about giallo vincenza. What do you think? Do you have any other suggestions?
    • All Granite and Marble 01:56PM, Jul 8 2008 JH: Looks good to me. Perhaps other stones from this family will work for you as well.
  • Donna 08:31AM, Jun 14 2008 Would Giallo Vicenza look good with maple cabinets (natural with a slight honey glaze)? The kitchen and dining room are together as one big room and my dining room table is chocolate brown as well as the accents.
    • All Granite and Marble 01:56PM, Jul 8 2008 Donna: That would be a well-fitting stone.
  • Lynn 08:29PM, May 3 2008 Would this color look good with white cabinets, stainless appliances and honey oak floor? I had been leaning toward black granite but I would like a little more warmth and have heard black will make the kitchen appear smaller.
    • All Granite and Marble 12:49PM, Jun 5 2008 Lynn: Yes, black (or dark in general) tends to "shrink" the space. I would go with something a bit darker though.
  • Rosa Moehling 06:56PM, Apr 19 2008 I am interested in the Giallo Vicenza and the Vicenza, can you tell me what the difference is?
    • All Granite and Marble 03:44PM, May 19 2008 Rosa Moehling: Same stone, two different batches.
  • Matt Maloney 07:29PM, Apr 8 2008 Installing mocha glazed maple cabinets with a giallo vicenza or giallo fiorito, and trying to decide what color tile goes with the granite. Any suggestions?
    • All Granite and Marble 12:24PM, Apr 16 2008 Matt Maloney: Tile for the backsplash?
  • Ev 10:06AM, Feb 4 2008 I like this stone but think it may look too orange with my older honey oak cabinets. We have sample at home and it seems the orange color is poppig out at me. Not sure if it is just the particular sample or if there are slabs that are more brown. Any thoughts? Thanks.
    • All Granite and Marble 05:30PM, Feb 7 2008 Ev: Try different stones from the Giallo family.
  • carlos 10:10AM, Jan 23 2008 The cabinets are a dark brown.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:28AM, Jan 30 2008 carlos: In that case, pick the lighter stone.
  • Carlos 05:17PM, Jan 22 2008 The tile back splash and floors in our new kitchen will be a light tan. The adjoining living room will have medium brown (heritage) floors. Which granite counter top will look best in our kitchen? The New Venetian Gold or the Giallo Vicenza? I like the contrast the New Venetian Gold provides, but it's not as rich as the Giallo Vicenza. Thoughts?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:13AM, Jan 23 2008 Carlos: I'm leaning towards the Vincenza as well. What color are the cabinets?
  • Lori 01:30PM, Jan 11 2008 I have 20X13 L peninsula kitchen, travertine villa pattern floors, cappucino stain shaker cherry cabinets. I love this granite but am worried it will be lost on the cherry. Also saw it on bank outdoor walls in NYC so maybe too industrial? Any suggestions are welcome!!
    • All Granite and Marble 09:17AM, Jan 16 2008 Lori: I too think that this might look a bit too "commercial". Perhaps you could try stones with a more organic pattern?
  • MD 01:19PM, Oct 8 2007 This is the stone chosen for the countertops in the kitchen with golden oak cabinetry. What type of backsplash should we use with this stone. On the kitchen floor we have porcelin tile that looks like a natural stone unfinished
    • All Granite and Marble 09:40AM, Oct 9 2007 MD: You can use a similar tile but in small squares (4"). You can always go for tumbled marble or travertine ones as well.
