Hello. Actually, the correct, technical, specific classification is that Red Ravel is a jasper stone. I've confirmed this with the import manager of Marble.com. For marketing purposes, it's labelled as being closer to granite. This is because this stone is overall appropriate for kitchen countertop application. It's a little porous so would need to be sealed often to remain stain resistant. If you have small kids and cook often, then I would be a little weary of recommending it however. For a stronger, more durable granite with deep red coloring, take a look at Red Dragon. Hope this helps!

    Hello
I saw this at the Ridgefield location and learned that it is marble. Is there a granite that has the same warm shade of red with cream veining?
    Thanks
