  • Marble.com - Derek 02:21PM, Jan 5 2012 In addition to the excellent thoughts Kinga has given on this topic, I'd like to add that you will be able to pick your final slab after the template, and a salesperson will come out to the yard with you and lay-out the templates on the slab to create the most aesthetically pleasing lay-out for the countertops and you will be able to discuss and agree on the vein movements during this time.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 06:34PM, Jan 4 2012 The good news is that this stone has moderate to no directional veining. When it comes to veins, you want them to go the same direction so the pattern does not clash. It is important to see the slab in person and actually choose the portion of the slab based on your templates to ensure you are getting the flow you like. I attached a sample floor plan showing flow of pattern. I hope this helps!
  • Sidiw1 11:40AM, Jan 4 2012 We have oak cabinets.  Considering Typhoon Gold but concerned about the direction of the veining when the top is installed.  We have an L shaped counter top.  Suggestions as to layout?
  • Mike 10:02PM, Aug 2 2010 We chose our slabs today. Thanks for the recomendation on the Gold Typhoon. It does have a bit more "character" than the NVG. Next step is choosing backsplash. My wife really likes those 1 inch glass/clear stone tiles as a border, but I think the main tile should be a simple color so it doesnt clash. Cabients are Maple Toffe with Ebony Glaze and Floor is Forest Beige Marazzi. Thanks again!
    • All Granite and Marble 10:20AM, Aug 3 2010 Mike: Go simple on the backsplash, a tumbled bottocino marble or neutral subway tile would be my choice.
  • Mike 11:00PM, Jul 26 2010 We have Yorketowne Maple Toffe cabinets being installed tomorrow on a Marazzi Forest Impressions Forest Beige floor and are wondering what a good granite choice may be. We've been looking at New Venetian Gold and Gialo Napoli, but are wondering if the Gold Typhoon may be a better option with more movement. Does anyone know if this is the same as Typhoon Bordeaux? Our appliances are black.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:59AM, Jul 27 2010 Mike: The Typhoon Bordeaux is similar but not the same. I think the Typhoon Gold is a more attractive choice than the more neutral and toned down NVG or Napoli, go for it!
  • Erica 12:05AM, Jun 2 2010 Hi there, Looking at this granite for our design as well - our design includes off white cabinets and a stain grade island with brazilian cherry floors. Any reccomendations on tile? Were thinking of a stone tile or offwhite subway tile.
    • All Granite and Marble 10:11AM, Jun 2 2010 Erica: Great choice. The rich, deep veining in the Typhoon Gold will compliment your light cabinets and cherry wood. For tile, I recommend a noce travertine tumbled backsplash.
  • karen 01:51PM, Jun 8 2009 We were also thinking of colonial cream or Kashmir gold. Typhoon might be a better choice for our next house! Thanks
  • Karen 08:25PM, Jun 6 2009 We have Recessed panel white painted cabinets on the perimter and praline on the island w/ a walnut stained 1 1/2 inch plank oak floor. Would this be too busy since we have 2 different cabinet colors? Also, the kitchen is fairly small, 14x13 eat-in kitchen.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:55AM, Jun 8 2009 Karen: Borderline... The white cabinets are what's saving you. Definitely a bold design.
  • cindy 02:40PM, May 12 2009 I have golden typhoon countertops with hazelnut cherry cabints and light porcelian tiles on the floor. What would you recommend for backsplash? Mine slab didn't have as much blue as this is showing.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:26AM, May 15 2009 cindy: It's not really blue, but gray. Try a pale travertine tile for the backsplash.
  • wendy conte 04:27PM, Nov 18 2008 iam in the buffalo area and am interested in the typhoon gold. how would i go about ordering a piece and do you have local installers?
    • All Granite and Marble 08:55AM, Nov 24 2008 wendy conte: Please contact our sales office.
