  • Marble.com - Kinga 01:22PM, Sep 21 2011 A tumbled travertine is a great choice. Also check out tumbled marble for a timeless, classic look.
  • Marble.com - Derek 06:20PM, Sep 20 2011 That's a great idea to use Imperial Coffee, or perhaps something like Platinum Bahia, or Tropical Brown, on your lighter colored perimeter for a nice contrast. If you go down this route, the backsplash should be soft and simple, perhaps a 2" x 2" Baja Cream tumbled travertine tile would fit the design. I've attached an image for your reference.
  • Annette 01:16AM, Sep 17 2011 Derek,
thank you for your response.  I really like the Astoria.  I was trying to stay away from gold however, this doesn't have the overall appearance of gold.  I like how it looks on the dark cabinetry, my cabinetry is even darker.
Regarding my cream colored cabinets on the perimeter, do you think I should go with Astoria also?  I was thinking of maybe Imperial Coffee or do you think I should keep it all the same?  I am just worried Astoria will blend in too much with the cream cabinets...
And one last question, what backsplash would you recommend for the Astoria and which for the Imperial Coffee?
    Thanks so much! Annette
  • Marble.com - Derek 09:26PM, Sep 13 2011 I've created a Comparison Table of my suggestions for your design. They are Astoria (classic and timeless), Amba Gold (rustic/golden ripples throughout slabs), and Gold Antique (must be a darker batch as pictured). Let me know how you feel and good luck: http://www.marble.com/material...
  • Annette 03:16AM, Sep 13 2011 We are having maple cream color perimeter cabinets installed and bombay (dark brown) cherry cabinets for the island.  The island is 8 ft by 5 ft.   What would be a good choice?  I am leaning toward something with a beige background with maybe some black and cream?  What would you suggest?  Thank you.Annette
  • Debby 02:32PM, Sep 17 2009 I am installing light cherry cabinets and have picked out 4 colors of granite, new venetian gold, milky white, venezian dream & absolute black. Any stand out as a better choice and/or a bad choice?
    • All Granite and Marble 02:58PM, Sep 17 2009 Debby: I would go with either NVG or Milky White.
  • Tommy 05:47PM, Jul 31 2009 How would Venezian dream go with Maple cabinets in a coffee or palamino color? Or would the Giallo Ornamental go better?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:55AM, Aug 1 2009 Tommy: I would go with Giallo Ornamental and Maple cabinets in coffee glaze.
  • Diane 08:42AM, Jul 8 2009 my cabinet are maple wood with ginger with sable glaze stain i like a dark counter what would you recommend
    • All Granite and Marble 03:07PM, Jul 8 2009 Diane: This is a pretty good option. Keep in mind that the countertops tend to look darker once installed in the kitchen.
  • jay 09:06AM, Apr 24 2008 Love this stone and wonder if it is the same stone as Giallo Veneziano? Is Venezian Dream known by another name? How would it look with honey oak cabinets?
    • All Granite and Marble 03:59PM, May 19 2008 jay: Two different stones. Not sure if there is enough contrast to put it on Honey Oak.
