  • Marble.com - Derek 06:06PM, Feb 4 2012 I'll chime in with my recommendations, take a look at shades such as Benjamin Moore "Straw Hat", "Lemonade", and "Creme Brulee".
  • Marble.com - Derek 09:05PM, Feb 3 2012 That's not nice that your builder will not allow his own client to choose what will make him or her happy in the end. However, may you tell us what is the exact color and wood type of your cabinets? Or a picture would be great. But from what you've explained, I still feel the Ubatuba will work nicely as it's a timeless and classic choice. It's popular choice for a strong durability and beautiful flecks in the stone. You have to, just as Kinga described, add lighter accenting elements into the design to offset the darker combination of cabinet and countertop. A lighter backsplash, knobs and paint color will help you in this goal.
  • Marble.com - Derek 07:15PM, Feb 1 2012 I'd use a backsplash tile that compliments the White Spring granite, such as a White Carrara Mini Brick Mosaic or a Somer Tile Reflections Subway & Ming Glass Mosaic. I've attached images for your reference.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 03:07PM, Feb 1 2012 Check out Benjamin Moore’s “Moccasin”, “Antique Lace” and “Mayonnaise”. My favorite of the three is the “Mayonnaise” as it’s light, warm and inviting. Let me know what you think!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 02:59PM, Feb 1 2012 It’s unfortunate to hear your builder will not allow a change to the granite you are leaning towards. However, the Ubatuba will work just fine if you use light accents like a tumbled marble backsplash, knobs and pulls, and even light decorations. Remember, the granite you are purchasing has a mirror finish; therefore, it will reflect whatever you put on it. So if you place white flower vases with other decorative elements, the granite will feel much lighter. Also, if you have an option to use under cabinet light, I say go for it! It will add even more light to the space. You can paint your cabinets if you want but I wouldn’t recommend it since they are brand new. Ask your builder if it’s at all possible to change the granite to a stone like Santa Cecilia which is much lighter than the Ubatuba and just as beautiful. Usually these two granites are close in price so maybe he will agree without up-charging you. Let me know what you think!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 02:43PM, Feb 1 2012 Since the family room has a warm and neutral paint, you can definitely carry that into the kitchen. However, if you want to separate the spaces using paint, I would recommend going light like Benjamin Moore’s “White Cloud” or “Alpine White” to continue the bright and airy feel of the space. For backsplash, a Keramia Terra Blanco or Calacatta Gold honed would be an appropriate choice as would a simple White Subway tile. You can also use a decorative border pulling out colors from your granite to spice up the backsplash a bit. Let me know what you think!
  • Cynthia Harmel 04:50AM, Feb 1 2012 I have espresso cabinets with white springs granite countertop and backsplash. The hardwood floors are natural oak and all appliances are stainless steel. The sinks are white cats iron. Can you make some paint suggestions that could warm up the room. It flows into the casual dining area and into living room. Please help!!! Painter coming Friday!!!
  • Madhusudha09 04:47AM, Jan 31 2012 Hi our house is in process actually we choose dark brown cabinets and uba tuba granite at 1st and in between the process we found out that both dark colors don't look good and want to change to white springs but the thing is as we already choose the house builders doesn't want to change the granite of uba tuba to white springs...and if so they change they will charge us a lot money so my question is white springs good r uba tuba good? Even if don't change. To. White springs what can we do later we move in to the house can we change color of cabinets without braking them...
    It's brand new home.thank u
  • Tracie Saelinger 04:42PM, Jan 29 2012 Hi...we are doing new off white cabinets w/ mocha glaze and a walnut island.  I would like to use white spring granite. I have stainless appliances/sink but oil rubbed bronze handles and light fixtures.  The family room walls(opens up from the kitchen) are painted restoration hardware "saffron" . I want a simple backsplash with a bit of decoration (ie bronze/copper trim or whatever).  I need help figuring out the backsplash tile color/type and wall color!!!!  Do you have any suggestions??? Desperate!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 04:37PM, Jan 10 2012 You are very welcome! Please let us know how your search goes!
  • VJ 03:20PM, Jan 10 2012 Thank you for both of your suggestions.  I'll check them out.
    VJ
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:09PM, Jan 10 2012 Seems like you're on track with a strong vision to create very beautiful and warm kitchen. For the backsplash, my suggestions are options such as Mazia Beige travertine mosaic with glass inserts, as well as Capadoccia glass & tumbled travertine. I've attached pictures for your reference, so let me how you feel about these possible choices!
  • VJ 05:46PM, Jan 6 2012 Our kitchen is a large L-shaped floor plan with a 4' x 8' center island.  We've chosen medium toned warm cherry cabinets with a traditional door front, Yellow River granite and I-Travertini procelain tile (collezioni or collection is Capri) in the Crema color (www.ceramichecapri.it  c). We are ready to select a backsplash which I would like to be plain/simple--something that I won't tire of over the years--perhaps bisque or biscut toned subway tile.  There are some cream spots in the granite, but predominately warm tones, copper, and silver, bluegrey veining.  I want to use the same backsplash in the adjacent bar area and powder room.  I like a lot of the glass, thin, linear, contemporary, and little mosaic tiles, but I need to stay traditional to blend with the rest of the decor of my house.  I have Benjamin Moore Lighthouse Landing paint and white painted woodwork doors, windows and crown molding. Appliances are Stainless. What would you suggest for the backsplash?  Thank You.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 01:17PM, Jan 6 2012 I like the direction you are heading in. I also like the idea of the Bursa Beige marble, as suggested by Derek, paired with Marazzi Vesale Stone Moss Diamond Mosaic used as a boarder. Let me know what you think!
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:18PM, Jan 5 2012 Your set-up is shaping up to be very elegant and quite contemporary. For the backsplash, a cleaner, simple, and complimentary hexagonal pattern out of natural stone could be Bursa Beige marble, I've attached a picture for your reference. I'd also like to add another suggestion that compliments the design nicely and is a clean, crisp look. It's Durango Classic Mosaic in a Diamonte Grande pattern. I've attached a picture for you.
  • RP 10:29PM, Jan 4 2012 We've chosen white spring for our kitchen counter tops and a medium brown for our cabinets.  our floors will also be a medium/dark brown hardwood.  Any recommendation on a backsplash color?  I chose a hexagon pattern in a neutral beige/brown stone pattern, but one of the interior design "experts" at a chain store said that backsplash would look too "dirty".  I don't want shiny glass back splash like everyone else.  Any suggestions on color/finish?  Thanks!
  • Marble.com - Derek 09:25PM, Dec 21 2011 The best decision would be to use a lighter granite for contrast as you've stated, such as Delicatus, Kashmir White, or Bianco Antico. The White Spring that Kinga mentioned is also an appropriate choice. Since it's the bathroom, there will not be any potential oil or red wine stains, just soap and water, so using a lighter granite is perfectly fine. Good luck!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 03:26PM, Dec 20 2011 Lighter stones are more porous and require more sealing than darker stones. However, sealing is a very simple process that takes a couple of minutes. I would recommend a lighter stone for a bath as it will brighten up the space and make it feel larger. I’m leaning towards the espresso vanity paired with the above-pictured White Spring.  I feel it’s a serene, peaceful and stylish combination.
  • Sara 03:21PM, Dec 18 2011 We are working on our bathroom and the two plans we have are either espresso cabinets/vanity or a driftwood grey - The floors are a white / grey swirl and the shower/ bath area will be a white ceramic subway tile either 6x3 or 8x4. Would you have any recommendations for the top of the vanity ...on the lighter side? Also, the original plan was to have white cabinets and the designer recommended Blue Pearl...wanted to let you know if that changes the price point and durability. Thank you.
  • Marble.com - Derek 09:51PM, Nov 9 2011 In addition to Kinga's wonderful recommendations, you can also take a look at Benjamin Moore "Linen White" for a neutral option. Good luck!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 01:40PM, Nov 9 2011 Check out Benjamin Moore’s “Wood Ash”, “November Rain” and “Morning Dew”. I feel these colors are light, warm and inviting as well as wonderful options to compliment your granite. Let me know what you think!
  • Jacqueline Hatcher 02:03AM, Nov 7 2011 Like your suggestion for the tile.  I think for the wall color I would like something neutral.  Faucets will be matted bronze.
  • Marble.com - Derek 06:43PM, Nov 4 2011 I recommend a porcelain tile such as "Shell" in our selection. I've attached an image for your reference. As for as wall color, anything you've envisioned so far? Do you want a warm color, or more on the soft, neutral side?
  • Jacqueline Hatcher 02:35AM, Nov 3 2011 We are in the process of having our kitchen remodeled.  We have chosen very dark brown cabinets and white springs granite. Our sinks are dark brown hammered copper.  Do you have any suggestions for the flooring and paint color?
  • Marble.com - Derek 05:39PM, Oct 27 2011 If possible, a picture of the kitchen would help us visualize your kitchen for more accurate suggestions. I think you should take a look at colors such as Sunset Ivory, Colonial Cream, Ivory Fantasy and Juparana Vyara.
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:45PM, Oct 27 2011 I recommend to get samples of both the red accent border tile and tan/beige/off-white accent border tile to go along with a white subway tile. If you're going to use the tan option, something like the picture I've attached would fit in quite well.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 08:44PM, Oct 25 2011 From what you described, your kitchen seems to have lots of movement and a lot happening at once. I’m afraid if you change the color of the island cabinets, the space might feel too busy. Take a look at the Astoria, Kashmir Gold and Milky White. Let me know how you feel about these suggestions!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 08:22PM, Oct 25 2011 I’m leaning towards a white subway tile to give your kitchen that clean, crisp and airy feel. Adding a decorative glass border will definitely spice up the backsplash without overpowering the space. Let me know what you think!
  • Mccallm 02:48PM, Oct 25 2011 Hi, I was wondering if you could give me some ideas on picking a granite color for my kitchen. My floors are a creamy white tile with a taupe veining in it. My cabinets are  natural cherry. ( lots of gold tones) The back splash is like a tumbled stone tiles in variations of cream and light taupe with an accent design in a Terra cotta color. I have stainless steel appliances and a big island, ( which I would also like to change, perhaps a different color then the cabinets???) what do you think??
  • Smita 10:36PM, Oct 24 2011 We have chosen White Spring granite for our kitchen remodel. Our cabinets and all appliances are white. White tile flooring as well.
We are thinking of choices and patterns for the back splash. Picked out white boreal ceramic tile with red glass accents, but now I'm wondering if the back splash should have tan/off white color so that it flows evenly with the granite (our slabs have cream, gray & red splashes of color). Thanks!
  • Marble.com - Derek 07:01PM, Aug 31 2011
White Springs is a gorgeous choice that will compliment your lighter colored cabinetry while creating a sleek contrast against the island. Another option could be Bianco Antico. I've created a Comparison Table for you, good luck! http://www.marble.com/material...
  • Sullygm 03:01PM, Aug 25 2011 I am renovatimg my kitchen and am installing white cabinets and with an ebony peninsula.  I have been shopping for granite (I really wanted marble, but realize it is too porous).  I like the look of White Spring.....I have hardwood floors (sort of a chestnut color).  I was thinking of tumbled marble as a backsplash, but I saw a backsplash that was white tile, marble and clear glass and thought it looked great.  I want a clean, simple look... do you think this will work?  My kitchen is pretty small, so no on item should be overwhelming.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 01:51PM, Jul 19 2011 I agree. The Capadoccia Glass Mosaic would look beautiful against the expresso cabinets and Delicatus.
  • Marble.com - Derek 12:49PM, Jul 19 2011 A picture of the floor tile would be helpful, but my pick goes for our Capadoccia Glass Mosaic to go against your Delicatus granite. It's a warm combination and the colors fit the design. Let me know what you think.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 12:41PM, Jul 18 2011 Nandachelle,
I was trying to find a photo of the floor tile but I cannot seem to find it. Without knowing what your floor tile looks like, I won’t be able to provide you with advice. Can you attach a photo?
  • Nandachelle 04:21AM, Jul 16 2011 I need help! I have Expresso cabinets, my granite is Delicatus(no orange or yellow) alot of cream and mushroom type colors, my floors are tile from Mercer they are a color called morphos, I have no idea for glass tile backsplash I have been looking for 3 months please help!
  • Marble.com - Kinga 02:58PM, Jul 12 2011 Also take a look at Benjamin Moore’s “Alpine White” or “Fresh Air”.
  • Marble.com - Derek 01:46PM, Jul 12 2011 Take a look at Benjamin Moore "Barely Beige" and "Navajo White". Let me know what you think!
  • Janiellkslp 09:49PM, Jul 9 2011 Hi, I have dark cabinets, white spring contertp and tumble travertine floors in a multicolor beige color. My backsplash is beige travertine (think I should have used noce but oh well0. I am having trouble deciding on wall color. Do you have a favorite beige or light tone color suggestion that would work well with the travertine and backsplash? My whitespring has more of a greenish taupy tone in it, and also red.
    Thanks,
    jane
  • Marble.com - Derek 04:37PM, Jul 8 2011 White Spring is great, along with Bianco Antico, and Delicatus. Just make sure the tile does not clash with these colors, so you may want to look for slabs that have some slight brown undertones or veins in them.
  • Van 10:44PM, Jul 5 2011 I have warm rich cherry cabinets and an 18"porcelain off white travertine-like tile for the floor. I have a dark kitchen and don't want to go too dark on the countertops. Problem is the tile has a warm brown streaking that turns reddish or makes the tile go dirty warm against some of the white granites. I want to avoid having a gold or rust or orange to the granite because I think it will be too restrictive for wall color if I paint with cool tones, so which granite would be more neutral?  My tile looks nice with Pompeii and some Yellow River slabs.  Would White Spring work? Suggestions Pleas
  • Marble.com - Derek 01:58PM, Jun 24 2011 I'm leaning towards White Spring. While it varies between each slab, White Spring generally has some creamy undertones that would compliment your cabinet nicely. The White Fantasy has more gray veining, and may be more appropriate for a stark white cabinet color. Hope this helps.
  • Angie 12:07AM, Jun 24 2011 I am having my kitchen done, in a cream color cabinet with coco glaze.  I love the look of marble, would you suggest white fantsy, or would white spring go better.  My breakfast bay will be a medium brown, with rye glaze.  Help...which would you choose?
  • Donna 05:59PM, Apr 26 2011 I'm trying to update a 50s square-shaped kitchen with breakfast bar. Floors are honey oak. New appliances are stainless, gas stove with black cooktop, and cabinets are currently white-but can paint. What backsplash and cabinet color would look good with the White Spring granite?
    • All Granite and Marble 03:30PM, Apr 28 2011 Donna: Donna: You may keep the cabinets light as they are or paint a dark cherry color to really offset the lighter White Spring granite. For backsplash try a tumbled Botticino marble tile.
  • michele resnick 07:41PM, Apr 6 2011 I am thinking of using white springs for my countertops of the perimeter cabinets and peninsula. I will be using medium/dark walnut flooring and my cabinets will be a glazed offwhite/cream with a slight pewter lglaze.Do you think that will work or be too much cream. NOt sure of backsplash, either the white springs granite or a light taupe glass subway tile??
    • All Granite and Marble 10:09AM, Apr 7 2011 Michele Resnick: I think it's fine, the floor will offset the light elements of your design. For backsplash, I recommend continuing with a full White Springs backsplash.
  • Winnie 05:44AM, Apr 2 2011 I want to remodel my kitchen to a contemporary style. I'm planning to have dark chocolate maple cabinets with White Spring granite countertop. I think it might be too overpowering if I have the White Spring as full backsplash. What do you think? I'm thinking about having glass tile as backsplash instead. Any other tiles or glass tiles color recommendations?
    • All Granite and Marble 01:39PM, Apr 2 2011 Winnie: I don't think the White Spring will be too busy for a full backsplash. The opposite, it would look very nice against the dark cabinet. But a white glass subway tile is also appropriate in this situation.
  • Kathy Oakley 01:28PM, Mar 13 2011 We have white spring countertops and can not decide on a backsplash design. since the white spring has so much movement, we're just not sure what would look best with it. One end of the kitchen is a brick wall with muted reds. The bricks do meet the backsplash. Any ideas?
    • All Granite and Marble 01:30PM, Mar 14 2011 Kathy Oakley: I'd use a simple white subway tile for a soft look against the White Spring, perhaps with some red accents to compliment the brick.
  • Ronald 03:57PM, Dec 2 2010 We're looking for granite because of its practical durability , that looks as close to calacutta or danby marble as possibe. Would this granite give us that look? Trying to achineve that French look,; the cabinets we chose are natural maple; not sure yet what we'll put on the floor, and we're thinking of white subway tile look for the backsplash, with perhaps a mosaic accent with copper mixed in behind the stove. Suggestions and comments welcome.
    • All Granite and Marble 11:26AM, Dec 3 2010 Ronald: Please take a look at White Vermont and White Fantasy.
  • Mary 09:56PM, Aug 17 2010 I have a tumbled porcelain floor that has a lot of different colors ranging from gray to beige and even a little russet. Our cabinets are cherry with a cherry stain. We want to maintain a very "comfortable kitchen. We also have white appliances. I really like white sping will it go? My husband is afraid it would be to modern of a look and wants something warmer. I say we can warm it up with a backsplash? Do you have any other suggestions
    • All Granite and Marble 10:39AM, Aug 18 2010 Mary: You may use the White Spring and it will offset the cherry cabinets nicely. As for backsplash, try tumbled noce travertine tile. For a choice in the gold tones for more initial warmth, I suggest Golden Beach or Kashmir Gold.
  • Debra Bass 01:52PM, Aug 9 2010 Yes, I have White Spring in my kitchen. I have wood floors, medium to dark oak and then I have all white woodwork. I have lots of windows but I am wanting to paint my walls and was wondering what color of paint would look best and that would really blend in with my granite and pop out the white wood work.
    • All Granite and Marble 11:01AM, Aug 10 2010 Debra Bass: For wall color try Benjamin Moore "Iceberg".
  • Carla 01:23PM, Apr 20 2010 I thought I had decided on white spring for my kitchen, which you said would look great with my natural cherry cabinets, in a dark kitchen. The problem is, once I brought home a sample of white spring and sagebrush(origin-Africa) I thought the sagebrush looked warmer than the white background in the white spring granite. There is some pink tones in some of the sagebrush slabs I've looked at, and am not sure if this is a problem with cherry. Your thoughts?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:59AM, Apr 21 2010 Carla: That's going in a different direction, instead of contrast it will create a right and elegant atmosphere, and compliment the cherry nicely. Nothing wrong with this.
  • Carla 04:11PM, Apr 2 2010 I have natural cherry kitchen cabinets with black appliance in a dark kitchen. Would white spring work?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:07AM, Apr 3 2010 Carla: Absolutely!
  • Terry 06:09PM, Feb 19 2010 I have white spring counters and was wanting to paint my cupboards a very creamy color with a hint of yellow. Do you think this would be a good combo? Any suggestions on color.
    • All Granite and Marble 10:12AM, Feb 22 2010 Terry: That is an excellent idea! Go for it.
  • Suzanne 04:11PM, Feb 15 2010 can you quote me an 80" vanity top with double bowl in the White Spring granite? Thanks!
    • All Granite and Marble 10:10AM, Feb 16 2010 Suzanne: For pricing please contact the sales office.
  • julie angello 09:25AM, Feb 10 2010 What is price per sf or linear ft of White Spring Granite???
    • All Granite and Marble 09:23AM, Feb 11 2010 julie angello: For pricing contact the sales office.
  • Mary G 05:09PM, Jan 7 2010 In your opinion would the White Spring work with cherry cabinetry or be better with cabinets painted taupe or linen?
    • All Granite and Marble 07:40AM, Jan 8 2010 Mary G: It would look gorgeous with cherry cabinets. Good contrast and very sleek.
  • vincent Cajano 02:51PM, May 10 2009 I have a kitchen I am installing in about 3-5 weeks waiting for the cabinets. I need 2 pieces of white spring 7.5 and 5.5 one sink cut and with a 4 inch splash
