Yes, marble can be used in the bathroom for a shower application. I recommend polished marble (White Carrara is an excellent choice) and you should reseal the surface once a year so it does not stain from the skincare products, shampoo's ect and so it does not have any watermarks. Good luck!

Can marble be used in a shower application ? I am considering using it for the flooring from the Mstr. Bed. through the closet hallway onto the bathroom floor and continue up into the shower. Once continous color marble for the whle application.

Unfortunately the Online Estimate Tool at the moment does not offer fireplace shapes for pricing. To receive an estimate for your fireplace surround or hearth, please contact the nearest sales office: www.marble.com/contact They will require a drawing of your project with measurements and shape that you can email or fax over.

  • Marble.com - Derek 01:06PM, Jul 5 2011 To add-on to what Kinga has already said, you have to appreciate the patina that marble will develop over time. In Europe, homeowners have appreciated the natural aging of marble for hundreds of years. There will also be inevitable etching of the stone, so I would recommend a honed finish to minimize the appearance of the etches. With proper maintenance, you CAN use marble, you just have to love the beauty of it and understand that it will not look spotless and "perfect" forever as it's a natural stone.
  • Marble.com - Kinga 11:55AM, Jul 1 2011 People use marble in their kitchens all the time. As long as you properly seal and clean it, you shouldn’t have a problem using it in your kitchen.
  • Maryjkelly49 11:43PM, Jun 30 2011 Could you use this marble as a kitchen counter?
  • Marble.com - Derek 03:39PM, Jun 23 2011 It may be possible to repair the crack. Contact the company that fabricated your fireplace surround.
