No matter how careful you are, etching and staining will occur as this is normal for marble. You can opt to get it with a honed finish to prevent the etching but do expect some scratching and staining. You should seal your countertop every six months and always keep it clean. You can bring samples home and put them to the test! That’s truly the best way to tell and understand what may happen with your countertop. Hope this helps!

CJ, I am wondering if you did decide to go with the Daino Reale for Kitchen countertops?  I am dying to know how they came out and how it is holding up a year later.  I am at the cusp of deciding on putting in Daino Reale marble for a countertop in a little beach cottage, but very nervous about wear and tear.

If using Daino Reale   for a bathroom vanity top and tub surround...I'd like to use an alternate marble tile on the floor....that is a color shade that will compliment the Daino Reale....do you have any recommendations?

  • CJ Sim 01:45PM, Sep 8 2010 Is there any drawback or issues with using daino reale for kitchen tops? I am coming out 2 previous granites and this time am leaning towards this particular stone choice.
    • All Granite and Marble 09:16AM, Sep 10 2010 CJ Sim: It's a soft stone because it's classified as a marble. Be ready for stains, chipping, and etching.
  • Nancy Meltzoff 05:36PM, Aug 28 2010 I have daino real countertop and a red glass sink on top of it. What would go well on the floor?
    • All Granite and Marble 09:03AM, Aug 30 2010 Nancy Meltzoff: I recommend a noce travertine tile for the flooring.
  • beth 03:57PM, May 26 2010 I have botticino fiorito tile, sage green walls and cherry cabinetry (sangria cherry not dark cabernet cherry). What do you think of this or a darker brown marble for the counters and tub surround?
    • All Granite and Marble 04:53PM, May 26 2010 Beth: Diano Reale would be fine, excellent contrast.
  • df 08:49AM, Mar 25 2010 have cherry vanity, beige travertine floor tile and Swanstone tub surround in cornflower in my bathroom. Replacing the vanity top and would like to add something that will 'pop' in stone. I like this for the cherry & travertine but fear it might clash with the cornflower Swanstone? any suggestions are welcome, like marble but would go with granite. Thank you!
    • All Granite and Marble 09:31AM, Mar 25 2010 df: Looks like Crema Marfil or Botticino marble would compliment the Swanson more so than Daino Reale.
  • Darlene 11:35AM, Oct 15 2009 I would like to get an estimate for a 43" vanity with right backsplash
