- All Granite and Marble 10:18AM, Dec 4 2007 pamela: Onyx is quite different from both granite and marble. Due to its highly crystalized structure, it has the feel of glass almost. The veining however, breaks that crystalline structure, making the stone pretty vournable to mechanical stress. As far as pricing goes, Onyx will usually be more expensive than granite.
