  • Stacy 09:01PM, May 12 2011 I love this edge! What cut is it? Is this marble? Do you recommend marble for the kitchen? We just bought a 1927 Georgian brick. It has white cabinets, some with lead glass doors. It is small. Currently, it has dark, Formica countertops. I love, love, love the look of white carerra marble, but it gets such missed reviews. However, it is pictured everywhere in kitchen design books and magazines! Please help...
    • All Granite and Marble 09:59AM, May 13 2011 Stacy: This is the always stunning Calacatta Oro marble. The edge is built up (laminated) with kind of an ogee and bullnose edge combined, we call it "Design 25". As for marble in a kitchen, we do not recommend it because of the higher maintenance and softness of the stone. If you're going to use it, I personally recommend to have a marble island, but the perimeter countertops where most of the cooking will be done, should be granite or quartz.
