Cate: Since the island is more of a focal point in the kitchen, I would agree that putting the light stone on a dark island will accentuate it even more. |

Rosa: Both will be ok as they contrast the light cabinets. Be careful with the black though, as it requires a lot more maintenance (cleaning). |
