Jackie: It's okay! The Brown Peal is an excellent choice. It will contrast the cabinets but provide warmth in the kitchen, go for it!

Jackie: What color are your cabinets?

We have oak/chestnut color countertops with a darker brown maple flooring, with cleanwash steel appliances...any color recommendations? We were looking at Brazilian Cocoa (which we can not seem to find) and looked at Brown Pearl. Any suggestions of what might look good?

Pat: Go with a Giallo Ornamental(earth tone) or even an uba tuba(dark). The Uba Tuba has some tan fleck in it that goes well with the maple. In short, if it ties in with the cabinetry your white appliances will be fine.

We are replacing white corian counters. We have gold maple cabinets, light oak floors and white appliances. Would brown pearl work or will the appliances stick out? Appliances are new/energy star so we do not want to replace. If brown pearl isn't a good choice, any other suggestions for counter top/wall colors? Great site/thank you -

Lisa: Brown Pearl could be one of your better choices. In general I would recommend to go with a darker color to separate it from the corian counters.

We also have med-dark oak hardwood floors and dark emprador (brown granite with white/taupe veining) around the fireplace in the adjacent hearth room and black granite with white veining on fireplace in adjacent formal living room

We have white-wash oak cabinets, (which appear pink/yellow in color with white streaks) and have white corian counters. We would like to change island countertop only - which granite would you recommend
