I have a madura gold granit countertop, rusty, black specs in it. Do you think that a cherry cabinet will go with that counter top?

I have wheatfield bronze cherry cabinets and a light stone floor. Stainless steel appliances and a light tumbled stone backsplash. Sage green walls. Would Madura Gold work for counters?

We have brazilian cherry (laminate) flooring and brownish cabinets (from IKEA) with a slight reddish tint. My backsplash is tumbled marble - mixed reddish color with cream colors, and accents of copper tiles. We have a faux copper tin ceiling. I want something light, but that will pick up the colors - is this a good choice?

Praveena: Madura Gold is excellent for kitchen countertop. Every granite needs to be sealed. It should be done yearly.

I am considering using madura gold granite in my kitchen, but a lot of dealers are advising me to use darker color granites as they are more suitable for countertops. Please tell me if madura gold is suitanle as a countertop, if its porus and if it needs a sealant.

I have light oak cabinets and will have tan/cream veined 18" tile, all white appl. and condsidering Madura Gold for counters. Would this be to monocromatic? Should I look at more contrast?

I have hand-scraped wood floors (whiskey color)that are medium brown with some streaks of brown. The cabinets are oak in peppercorn brown. Will the medura gold work for the countertops? I am interested in a light colored backsplash. What do you think?

I am looking to purchase a granite countertop. We were looking into the madura gold but are wondering what you would recommend. Our kitchen floor is a solid mauve ceramic tile and our cabinets are cherry. We are looking for something in a warm beige or a lighter color granite look with hints of mauve or pink but not overpowering.

Ammu: Alright. Very pretty color. They do work together. It will depend a lot on the particular batch of the stone though. The lighter, the better. This particular one is on the darker side and it starts to blend a bit. The one in the photos of the kitchen is much better.

Amalfi is the stain that the cabinet manufacturer (Cardell) sells on birch wood. I tried to post a link but it didnt't work. If you search of "Cardell Birch Amalfi" you will find it. The style of the cabinet is Milano. Thanks a ton.

I am thinking of getting Madura Gold and was wondering if it would go with my setting. I currently have "Amalfi" cabinets, light brown tile and SS appliances. Your thoughts will be much appreciated.

Perimeter cabinets were just installed and they are beautiful but came out more buttercream than the sample. I was going to go madura on all, but now I'm concerned that madura may not be enough of a contrast with the buttercream. I have a chestnut cherry island, early American oak floors and stainless appliances Q: Would antique brown, absolute black or soapstone work on the perimeter with madura on the island? Too busy? It's a large kitchen with separate desk and bar areas too (in the buttercream). Thanks!!

Ken: Madura Gold will introduce gold into the party. Both the floor and cabinets have brown tones and the stone will break them up nicely. The darker tones in Madura have deep gold almost brown colors which would complement both woods. Make sure too double check and compare samples before you commit.

We have Toffee Maple cabinets and Java bamboo floors. Interested in your thoughts on how they might work with the Madura Gold

I am planning on Madura gold cabinets/island with dark cherry cabinets and an early american hardwod flooring. What do you think of the colors??

Tim: Very clever idea. The black will provide an "anchor" for the Madura and accentuate the pattern even more. Love it!

What are your thoughts on a Madura Gold island with absolute black on the perimeter countertops with honey finished oak cabinets and a light tan tile back splash?

Jyoti: I think going with absolute black would make this easier on you.

Beth: It would make a very toned down kitchen color-wise.

Mary Ann J: White cabinets will be enough to set the contrast between the tops and the rest of the kitchen.

Do you think Madura gold will work with white beadboard cabinets. The floor is a cognac colored maple and my island is a lighter colored cherry (Mandarin)

Would like to use Mudura Gold for countertop but not sure if will go with antique white w/espresso glaze maple cabinets - or should I look for something darker? No floor selection yet.

George: As I said in the previous answer, Solarius is a stunning color. Madura will also work well if you'd rather have a more toned down look.

George: That is a beautiful stone there George! I think the pattern is very dramatic, and will definitely make a stunning top.

Please let me which one will work better between Madura Gold and Solarius for my setting(with cherry cabinet, SS appliance, and maple hardwood) ? Thanks

Hello, Thanks. Will Solarus granite work with my cherry cabinet and maple floor ? I mean your stone ID 420 ? It seems has a lot yellow in that granit. Thanks.

I have a maple hardwood floor with honey stain in Kitchen. Will Madura gold work in this setting ? I also have cherry cabinet, which granit you will recommend ?

Julia: Definitely make the floor a darker stain, then there should be plenty of contrast in the kitchen.

I have cream colored cabinets and hardwood floors. I haven\'t chosen a stain for the floor, but thinking darker rather than the lighter honey color. I really like this stone. Do you feel this would work together well. Or should I be considering an even darker color?

Fran: It's a low contrast scenario, but it could work depending on the lighting.

I\\\'m getting maple cabinets with a nutmeg glaze. do you think this would go with my cabinets?

All Granite and Marble - Moderator

Date: 2007-08-02 16:07:23

Kristen: Hmm... I think it would look good. As long as there is enough contrast between the cabinets and the stone you should be ok. Light backsplash is definitely a good option.

I really like this one along with Kashmir Gold 286. Do you think either of these would look good with a slate flooring with honey colored cabinets? Or do you think I should go with something darker? Open to suggestions. I would like to stay with a light backsplash.

I have a sample of this granite on my counter at this moment. These pictures only reinforce how lovely it is. I think I am going to go with this Madura Gold. It will bring out the color in the maple butterscotch cabinets we ordered - Thank you for your wonderful site -nformative and has helped me so much.
