PC: I think you should be fine. For more contrast look at the Bordeaux.

I have light oak cabinets, beige/tan modled tile and am considering Madura Gold for the countertops. Would it be to monocromatic? Should we look at something with more contrast?

Laurie: Also take a look at Kashmir Gold, and maybe Golden Persa.

Previous owner installed granite around island cooktop--looks almost black with greenish tinge with rust and cream specks--might be verde peacock. We want to replace laminate on perimeter counters with complementary granite--no blacks or dark greens-would look too dark. We have white painted cabinets, mix of white and stainless appliances and terracotta colored rubber tile floors. What granite would you recommend? We liked madurai gold. Any others we should consider?

Kathy: I actually think Madura Gold would look very sharp in that set-up, go for it!

Cabinets are biscotti(cream) and island is chestnut - considering Madura gold? Floor tile is creamy color with veins of grey and auburn - mostly cream color Is there any other stone I should consider?

Ann Caruana: Madura Gold would match nicely. Kashmir Gold I think could work too.

I'm building an outdoor barbeque made of stone. Colors in the stone have grey tones and warm golden tones I'm considering ladies dream and Madura Beach for two small granite counters on the barbeque unit. Any suggestions on granite colors?

maria: Both are good choices. Similar warmth but definitely enough contrast. There are plenty other stones that would go, but they all look close to what you suggested.

William Pagano: I think that it's a good match. Subtle but not boring. Yes, the mica is a prevalent feature of this stone, BUT always check the specific slabs you'll be getting.

Cabinets are Diamond's Prelude "Sorrel" at the island and Ivory with Fawn Beige glaze for the base & wall of cabinets. How will this stone look? Also, a sample of this stone I have seen shows numerous Mica flakes that add sparkle, does these slabs have that also??

DEB: Use a nice creamy/beige tile, maybe tumbled marble. The beige will pick up the light creamy colors from Madura Gold. Take a look at this picture http://www.marble.com/countertops/galleries/full/kitchens/159.html I would loose the trim though.

I have white cabinets, red oak floors and am considering Madurai Gold. I don't want it to look gold and the slab I saw didn't actually look gold at all. Is this possible?

Cynthia: It might get a bit busy, depending on how intense the pattern is.

Alice: Vyara Gold seems like a contender. You also have to take into account the pattern. That can make a big difference.

jim: Both are excellent choices. You will have plenty of contrast.

My cabinets are toffe finish & tile flooring a similar shade. I love Madura Gold, but not sure if will be too much "monochromatic". Can you recomend a similar one that would be lighter...Shiva Kashmir pink?(401)..Vyara Gold?(457)and still go with cabinets?

Would this go with light golden maple or antique white w/dark brown glaze cabinets? Floors are neutral light golden beige tiles. Also, is this similar to Golden Beach granite? The other granite we like is Exotic Gold. What would the best combination be? Thanks.

Bryan: All are good choices. You did your homework well! I would probably go for Madura or Kashmir because they have movement. But that's just my personal opinion.

I have conemporary Cherry Cabinets in medium-dark red with medium hardwood floors. How would you rank the following granites for a countertop: Kashmir Gold, Madura Gold, St. Cecelia, New Venetian Gold?

ellie: My personal choice would be the Madura Gold. I just like the pattern more. I think it would add more life to the kitchen.
