Madelinhe: Excellent! You're on the right track, everything is falling into place. |

Thanks for your prompt response. I realize there would not be a lot of contrast. I actually was thinking of paint to do that. I have a smooth top wall and smooth barnboard on the bottom separated by moulding. I was thinking of painting either the top of bottom a deep russet/burgundy to bring out that color in the granite and a taupe of pale sand color on the other, with the moulding the same color as one or the other. What do you think of that? |

Madeline: It will match well, but not much contrast. The sink should compliment nicely though. |

I have medium oak cabinets and am thinking of getting Shivakashi countertops with a granite sink in either dark brown or dark gray with co-ordinating faucet. Any thoughts on this? Thanks |

Brenda: Priorities. Grab a sample of the stone and bring it home. Then place it in various spots in the two rooms to see how bad it is. |

I am getting Cherry Shaker style stained a darker Pecan color/ oak floors but my kitchen looks across to a pink/gray quartz / granite fireplace. Love the highlights in the shiva kashi but am afraid it would clash with so much pink and gray stone. Any ideas? |

sue: Yes there is, it will be subtle but they won't blend in. Just make sure you don't choose the Shivakashi White. |

I have white cabinets, golden oak flooring and considering Shivakashi -- is there not enough contrast? |

mimi: It's a rather toned down design overall. That's a good thing though, because this stone has beautiful flow to it and it will have room to "breathe". |

my question was is this a good combo. did you have any pics with cherry wood and this color on the counter? |

I plan to use this stone for my counter and island. I have cherry shaker style cabinets, and use bm paint pale oats, not sure of the combo, and medium honey colored wood flooring |

MARIANTHI: You could do Absolute black (maybe honed) or Black Galaxy if you like dark colors, or something like Juparana Golden Vyara if you like light colors. |

I'M USING SHIVAKASHI GRANITE FOR THE FLOOR. MY CABINETS AND CHERRY WOOD. WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST FOR A COUNTER TOP |

Preet: Make sure you check out the slabs! Shiva Kashi varies a lot from batch to batch and can often look orange/salmon colored. |

I have cherry wood cabintery in my kitchen. The floor is Lyptus Earth. I am planning to use Shivakashi pink for the countertops. Would this be a good choice? Is there a website where I could see the above written combination? What would you recommend? Thanks! |

Robert: Golden riviera would be my choice. It's perfectly good that it is a lighter stone. It makes for even more contrast between the tops and the cabinets, which is a good thing. |

OK,I went to your yard, what do you think of GoldenRiviera 189 compared to ShivakashiPink with Cherry wood/Cabernet stain cabinets? I have GoldenOak floors in the next room and the GoldenRiviera seems to have both the burgundy spots and some golden color but could the background be too light with these cabinets? Is there such a thing as too light? |

Robert: Both 404 and 405 are Shivakashi Pink coming out of the same quarry. The difference is excavation time. Every time quarry gets deeper into the mountain pattern and color may change slightly. In this case the newer lot no. 405 is ligher and pattern is more delicate. It's basically a variation of the same rock. |

Thanks, and what is the difference between your stone id 404 and 405 Shivakashi Pink? I will look at Giallo Ornamental too as you recommended. |

I'm remodeling my kitchen with Cherry wood cabinets with a cabernet stain. Now looking for granite counter top and island. I saw a Cherry/Burgundy cabinent with Shivakashi sample kitchen at another supplier and loved it. What other stones would you recommend? Also, what is the difference between your stone id 404 and 405 Shivakashi Pink? |
