Sue Hicks: Most likely, yes. Sealing might prevent some staining issues but mechanical and chemical damage will still happen.

If I keep the marble sealed, will it still dull?

Hendrik A Kroon: Might, as you put it, is an understatement. It will stain. Just a matter of time. Realistically, you either accept that marble will stain, scratch, dull, wear or you'll go crazy worrying about it. If you agree to the "aging" of the marble, and want that look, then it's ok. Otherwise, I would look into alternatives such as some granites (bianco romano for example) or engineered stone. You'll have a hard time trying to get the exact look of marble without getting marble though.

Love this as a kitchen countertop but hear that even if sealed might stain. What is an alternative?
